I actually knew exactly what you meant. Region 1-6A is significantly weaker than region 2. Just like region 4 is significantly weaker than region 3.

Say what you will about the coast because I think the brand of football down there is bad myself. But right now Brandon, OG, and WC are just as good as anyone up North. And most of the 6A title games have been toss ups and close games. Just because the south has been on the losing end of those games don’t mean the teams aren’t good.

That’s bold of you. Madison Central hadn’t been to the state championship let alone won one in two decades before last season.

I think the obvious answer here is Meridian as of late. With their history and level of athletes they usually have.

Being the host at state is really just a formality for who gets the better locker room.

I always get confused by this. For North/South state the rules say the HIGHER region will host if teams are equally seeded. Higher region means higher number

That’s not really my point. I can tell off my Mac book screen they’re better than every team in their region. But when you most likely have to play at least two region 3 teams that will be arguably better than anyone you’ve played so far in back to back weeks to reach the state championship that’s a tough ask. History speaks to it. They’re last edition of best team ever couldn’t get past OG last year. But I do think they can play with anyone. Just pointing out the obvious tough road they have ahead.

I think Ocean Springs is very good but having to beat Brandon, OG, or Warren Central in back to back games to go to state will be a very tough task. All 3 will be more battle tested.

OG is junior and sophomore heavy. I believe they have 5 maybe 6 senior starters.

Had no clue Southaven was undefeated. From what I saw when I looked them up they’re pretty athletic. Will be a tough out next month.

This is it. OG has state title talent. Last night was really their first time actually playing up to standard.

I don’t expect OG or Brandon to lose another game but WC is still on the fence for me
