No matter how much I understand it now I’ll have to look it up again next year. It’s like clockwork.

I always get confused by this. For North/South state the rules say the HIGHER region will host if teams are equally seeded. Higher region means higher number

That’s not really my point. I can tell off my Mac book screen they’re better than every team in their region. But when you most likely have to play at least two region 3 teams that will be arguably better than anyone you’ve played so far in back to back weeks to reach the state championship that’s a tough ask. History speaks to it. They’re last edition of best team ever couldn’t get past OG last year. But I do think they can play with anyone. Just pointing out the obvious tough road they have ahead.

I think Ocean Springs is very good but having to beat Brandon, OG, or Warren Central in back to back games to go to state will be a very tough task. All 3 will be more battle tested.

Line it up.

OG is junior and sophomore heavy. I believe they have 5 maybe 6 senior starters.

Had no clue Southaven was undefeated. From what I saw when I looked them up they’re pretty athletic. Will be a tough out next month.

This is it. OG has state title talent. Last night was really their first time actually playing up to standard.

I don’t expect OG or Brandon to lose another game but WC is still on the fence for me

If Meridian had a half decent QB they’d be up a couple of scores already.

Crazy how far this rivalry has fell off the last few years. Normally an OG Meridian matchup would be the talk of this board but now a days it seems 5a ball and smaller classifications have taken over MST. It’ll be a good game. Meridian has the athletes and running game to give OG some real problems. While I do think OG has one of most talented and athletic rosters in the state they don’t always want it more. We’ll see which team shows up for this one.

Brandon has a much better defense than Oak Grove

There’s not a ton of senior leadership this year. Mainly juniors. I’ve been saying since the season started they have potential but it wouldn’t surprise me if next year is the year you see a real juggernaut OG squad again.

Wouldn’t shock me if Petal wins this game. OG may “look” more talented than most teams they play but they’re probably the most inconsistent and poorest tackling edition of an Oak Grove team that I’ve seen in quite a few years now. Idk if the mass coaching change over is to blame or what but it’s definitely been a confusing season so far.

Been asking for OG to schedule MC for years now. That’s about the only team I have a real desire to see us play non district. Them and Starkville.
