As an OG alum… it’s actually weird if I’m not looking forward to a game on Black Friday. Truly a blessing for anyone to make it this far regardless of the results

I’ve been on MST since the glory days of this site (2006ish) seen all of the changes it has gone through. There are still some familiar names here that have been around since that time as well that I recognize every year that have been loyal to their schools since day one. This site isn’t as active as it once was when there was less social media presence but the loyal few along with myself keep the train running every season.

I expect Starkville and MC to be much closer than last time. MC’s defense is playing some championship level football from what I saw the other night. Not sure if they have the QB play to get it done though. I could be wrong

We’ll see Mout. Obviously we have the revenge factor against Brandon but that can only take you so far. They will have to be damn good to beat OG twice though. It’s amazing this thread doesn’t have more clicks. I’m not sure what moves the needle on MST anymore besides Enterprise High School.

When will we get final word on 6? I think Picayune needs a player as dynamic as him on both sides of the ball against WJ. I understand the next man up mentality but not having him in a game of this magnitude is a huge loss. Picayune hasn’t played a team this good since September and lost that game without him.

The first game OG faced an early 17-0 deficit due to a blown coverage on a flea flicker , an onside kick, and a poor punt to give really good field position all in the 1st quarter. And Brandon is a tough team to have to fight back from that kind of deficit. There were chances to still win the game. I think the difference now is how well we are playing defensively. Tackling was our Achilles heel in October and it’s been cleaned up. And really just being locked in and playing disciplined football

How are we feeling about the 7a final four? I’m personally hoping for a OG vs Starkville state championship game.

It’s not really so much the charmin soft schedule. Picayune has had to respond to adversity more often against equally talented teams especially early in the year. It’s not the end all be all but it’s definitely a factor.

To be honest… WJ’s defense is probably just as good from a talent standpoint as Picayune. I’m not 100% who I’d pick yet but I would lean on Picayune being more battle tested to this point. WJ won’t throw anything at them they haven’t seen already.

OG is playing at a totally different level than they were back in October and they are locked in. Meridian is young and those kids have a lot to look forward to
