7 classes was brought uo at annual meeting as I recall on the coast. I think it originated out of a district 5 annual meeting which Bubba was a part of at one time. -

In 4A-1A can now go 4 regions top 8 make the playoffs. 2 stay at home probably will likely be the same 2. -

IN 5A/6A you will always have dates available for a jug and a gator hunting trip for those 2 schools. -

They did it to get more money off of playoff games and to some degree appease coaches wanting desperately to coach in the playoffs. It didn't work for 1A because 4 regions were enough. 4A-2A now has many open dates. 40 schools in a class should mean 4 regions. 48 schools in a class and you get 8 regions. Some schools are at 1 or 2 open dates and appx 10 schools some weeks are open. They won't play a school open 20 miles down the road. What ever they come up with in the future it should be a minimum of 6 schools per region all classes. -

Multiplier I think would go away with a merger. I think its scheduling and other intangibles that take place ar facilities when a team plays on the road. Maybe some of yalk are little too aggressive with cheering when they play MHSAA schools. -

The only way we can openly save the 7 classes and 10 game schedules is to schedule one week out of the year that 4A-1A schedule 1 MAIS opponent. Enough of this 10 schools every Friday with an open date. 8 or 9 game MHSAA schedules already killing the bank accounts of schools.Otherwise we go back to 5 or 6 classes. Then if you have 150 kids in high school and or 55% boys to 45% girls you either play football or play a consolidated county football team especially in 1A NE MS. -

7 classes have given us 5 team regions with 1-9 records making the playoffs. With all the open dates this year its going to be some 1-8 records in the playoffs. Right now in 2A you have 4 team regions all 4 in the playoffs and yes 0-10 goes as a 4 seed. In 1A north you have appx 10 nonfootball schools out of roughly 24 or so. That means you have 6 team regions with up to 3 non football teams in the region. Somewhere 1 seeds get buys now. 1A set up has to change or simply go back to 4 regions maybe 6 regions if it can be worked out fairly. With 6 there will be some buys. At least those schools get back to 10 game seasons and not 8 game seasons. 6 classes were better. 5 classes is probably where we need to be even if it leaves 3 teams per region at home. And now we have coaches that won't schedule certain teams or certain coaches for what ever reason. Like Forest dropping Raleigh or Bay Springs dropping Raleigh because the excuse was in Spring of 25 that Raleigh players hurt us then you schedule a team 3 hours away. Coaches have got to get tougher in some areas. Consolidation is or will happen over time. Nothing you can do but grow your county or your town. -
Bottom line is they don't want to work the gate, the ticket booth or the concession stand because their too good to be there on a Friday night. The younger teachers aren't interested in being at a game when they can be at home with the their 2 year olds or at an Applebee's or Chick-fa-la .

I was just making a suggestion. Probably will never happen. Maybe i should have said Pelahatchie.

Brandon vs MRA or Manchester vs Morton might be a better option than Brandon vs Ocean Springs or Morton vs Leflore County for regular season games.

Really if travel is the issue with MAIS then go with 1-8 in the south and 1-8 in the north. That way eliminate Parklane traveling to Magnolia Heights, etc, etc. Same with MHSAA going back to 4 regions in 1A footbal. Otherwise MHSAA would have go back to neutral site games for travel purposes in the playoffs for example double headers in the Hattiesburg area for 7A, 6A, and really all playoff games if necessary.
-
If schools in South Mississippi join that league certainly it will be those along the Pearl River and alonf hwy 28 and 84 due to the same travel experience.
-
Depends on their health.

1 MAIS is struggling and we may get a merger someday. 2 MGSAA coaches need opponents for all these open dates so we may get a scheduling agreement but not 8 man. 3 1.5 multiplier has become a stinky issue. 4 Wait and see?

I have been to Berry's in Magee only twist and I know the family. I work with a relative of theirs and needless say some restaurants will be getting once a year visits and some twist a year maybe. But then I do watch what I eat now.

Principal taking it upon himself or herself

Applebee's and those fancy restaurants will cost you 30 bucks a pop per person in Rankin County now. Gas station chicken it is for a road trip for many.

Schedules have been released on Capital Sports Ms. MS Palmer coach is listed as XXXX.
-
Maybe they have it just hasn't been posted anywhere.
-
You hope the assistants have taken up the slack. Maybe use the OC's offensive plays and sprinkle in a few new ones along the way.
-
MS Palmer is the last opening left.

6 Classes 6A-4A 4 Regions 6A-4A top 6 make the playoffs per region 3A-1A 8 Regions 3A-1A top 5 make the playoffs per region OR 5 Classes 6A-5A 4 Regions 4A-1A 8 Regions Top 6 make the playoffs in every class and region **If the legislature votes to close 25 to 35 schools discussed things are going to change**
