Others may have a different opinion but young coaches need to get into the Pers system. A lot of private schools do not pay anywhere close to what you would make as a public school teacher and on top of that they do not offer retirement until you get to a certain point.

Kossuth is probably the only team in the North who has a chance against Winona just because they will be senior heavy. Maybe North Panola because of athleticism, but it is hard for me to belive anyone has a shot to beat Winona. They should walk through the North without breaking a sweat.

I agree with your assessment. I think Union, Charleston and Calhoun all have a legitimate shot. All three have a lot coming back. Eupora lost a lot.

I just threw out some names. Brandon and Picayune are both great as well. Just trying to start an off-season discussion.

Who has the best coaching staff in the state? Not just the HC but the staff as a whole. Tupelo? Gulfport? Itawamba? Ripley? Ocean Springs? JDC? OG? Starkville? Oxford? Louisville? Etc.

Seems like a tough loss. Thought they were going in the right direction. Even Winonas HC had a tough time winning there and they may win 3a this year. -
Hire coming soon.

Singlewing. Hahahaha

Would be a good get if true.

He is probably finishing out his contract

Yes Green is at Gulfport

That thread earlier in the year had some interesting comments.

Not sure how part of the community would feel about 1 of the 2.

Interesting collection of candidates.

I was more or less responding to the other guy about his argument that coaches should teach. In a perfect world you would love to have a HCs presence in the halls at all times of the day. I understand the role of an AD.

I can tell you there will not be a mass shortage of head coaches in football. I know a 3a school that had 50 applications and a 1a school with 40. Of course there are school with very few applicants. If you want to argue smaller sports then I agree but not football.
-
I can understand the HC not being in a class but instead being in an administrative role so they can help deal with situations and monitor the students.

My head hurt. You know college coaches are required to have a Bachelor's Degree, but prefer you to have a Master's?

You must be hearing something completely different.

Top 10 Rivalries (feel free to add if I missed any)
doyouevencoachbro replied to BrickCity's topic in Football
No because of how many years in between games, but it could get back to that point. That rivalry was ugly. A lot of Quitman Grads are sending their kids to Enterprise which may hurt it.
