It's crazy how tight these projections are, especially in 6A & 7A but I think that's probably indicative of the talent level. I reckon that's the way it's supposed to be.

@s1nglewingWhen does the AHSFHS website get updated with all of the district and state titles for MHSAA and MAIS? Is it at the end of the respective seasons for each or whenever those milestones are reached?

It's too bad the old misshsfootball.com website went kerplunk. It ain't been active since Covid hit. They didn't go back as far as the pre MHSAA era is concerned, but they did a great job with keeping up with the records, pfpg, papg, postseason brackets and so on.

You know as well as I do that what's happened in the past won't matter in regards to this game. It's going to be two great football teams going after it and the one with the fewest mistakes will come away the victor. Picayune has started playing really well since the postseason started and they just need to continue that level of play. As long as Maroon Tide Nation shows up and makes it a home game type atmosphere like we had in 2019 up there, Picayune should continue to play an inspired brand of football.

It got mentioned on the T&L podcast with Hadad and Faulk. Don't know if there's any truth to it or not.

Saw where State offered Chadwell. Don't really know anything else other than that. Hopefully both sides can come to an agreement.

Don't know and it's water under the bridge at this point. If he plays, he plays. If he doesn't, he doesn't. Will it stink if he doesn't get to play? Sure it will, but you've gotta press ahead and we'll be fine. There's really no need to make a big deal out of it at this point. I'm sure the appeals process is going through the proper channels and if it gets denied, it gets denied.

We’ve got two Pearl River County schools playing for South State this weekend as well. Go Hornets and Roll Tide!

Well the hot clock is supposed to start when point differential gets to 35 regardless of quarter, but apparently it’s only been starting in the second half for some reason. Don’t know why. Pascagoula could have made it a little more interesting if they had connected on some of those long pass plays because the Goula receivers were wide open. Other than that though Goula really couldn’t get anything going. Our defense was just too overpowering for them. Keep your head up Archer. I know this was a bad loss for your Panthers, but y’all should be right back in the thick of it next season. All those Goula boys looked big, so I don’t think we’ve seen the last of them.

Sounds like there needs to be an appeal then. I don’t understand why these teams (like Hancock & Goula) can’t just come in and play a clean football game. I reckon it’s because they are getting beat badly, but still they shouldn’t be taking out their frustrations on us. If they truly want to be angry and need to take their frustrations out, then they need to direct it to their coaches.

Fair point there. I guess my point is is that 5A South was such a mixed bag this year that you could draw a name out of a hat.

Well it comes down to Gautier and Laurel in the South. Can’t say we didn’t see that coming, but man oh man West Point is gonna have a field day/put on a clinic in Oxford.
