I’ll be honest, I didn’t see what happened yesterday coming at all. This Mississippi State Football team is really, really bad. I know it’s going to take some time to make improvements to the team, but where do you begin? The whole coaching turnover thing hasn’t helped and the talent level isn’t where it needs to be. This year is going to be rough, but I’m curious to see how Lebby addresses the issues during the off-season so that improvements can be made.

If Shannon moves up to 5A, then that means the area around Tupelo is growing. They could probably use a bigger stadium if they make the move, but then again that could be something in the works as well. That big green pasture that’s nearby looks like a prime candidate.

Thankfully the storm has now passed us, but there’s widespread power outages with Coast Electric in Pearl River County currently. Once daybreak hits, they should be able to make assessments and start getting the power grid up and running.

If you want to talk about helmet abominations, you should see PRC’s helmets. They’re not that shiny royal blue with the pitchforks on the side anymore. They are a solid matte black with blue facemasks and nothing on the helmets whatsoever.. It’s awful.

Poplarville would definitely boat race all of 5A South at this point. That might be the best path to get Poplarville a state title come to think of it. I’d pay good money to see a Poplarville-West Point finale. You’d be able to count on less than two hands the number of passes thrown in the game. It would definitely have an old school vintage feel to it. Go ahead and bust out the long sleeves and leather helmets.

Yes I saw who they beat Saturday. I don’t expect them to be a threat, but as it stands right now region 3 is looking better than region 4. I realize there will be some ebb and flow, but I think if I had to call it today, someone from Region 3 would be the 5A South Representative.
