It’s because they are in region 2. Region 2 has 9 teams.

Spot on post here. Is there a solution for their problems? Yes there is, but will they do anything about it remains the question. They should have already done something about it, but for some reason it's been crickets.
-
Bring it on!!!

You're probably right, but you've got to tip your cap to Slick posting this. This has been a long time coming. I'm glad we have the return of the Slick10 Poll. Who would have thought that half the teams in region 4 would be undefeated at this point? And it's teams that you would not expect like West Harrison and Vancleave. When West Harrison and Vancleave play that will probably be a very important game with potential play-off implications involved. Things in 5A South definitely aren't mundane and boring LOL!

Poor PRC. That thing is going to get ugly fast. Owen needs to agree to a hot clock before the game starts. I honestly think Picayune will have 3rd stringers in the game before halftime.
-
I absolutely love this Slick. Great job! I'd put a $5 bill in the tip jar.
-
Well it’s not something I imagined before the season started for sure, but like @Merlinsaid, it may not be as log jammed as we once thought.
-
And this is the reason why we like High School Football so much. Things will get interesting if Florence pulls off the W.
-
I like to keep an eye on what's going on in Region 3 because sooner or later it'll probably effect us in some way.
-
Vott, I just looked this one up. I honestly had no idea what the projection would be. I was very surprised, but their projections are very good. I just had a hunch about this game and apparently the calpreps folks do too.

PROJECT A MATCHUP neutral field [2022] Florence (MS) 35, [2022] Laurel (MS) 34
-
Florence also has a Bulldog LB commit, so they must have some salt on their defense as well.
-
That's a good question Deonte. We know that LHS Nadars auntie don't work at Wards no more so he can't get the free WiFi like he was accustomed to.
-
I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. I have no idea which team you pull for or what not. I just thought that this Florence-Laurel matchup seemed to be intriguing and obviously you don't and that's fine. Adios bud.

Well Magee must have not been depleted, they won a State Title. So are you saying teams that won state titles in 2020 are illegitimate title winners? I know for a fact Picayune was not a depleted team in 2020, and we played football just like any other year. I guess your post just doesn't make sense to me when you say Florence has played absolutely nobody, but I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.
-
1954. The last time Magee had a coach with an overall losing record.
-
TheAnswer has the answers! Hallelujah!
-
And another thing. Magee ain’t a nobody. They just won a state championship in 2020. I have no idea if Magee has hit a lean year, but that’s a historically good Mississippi High School Football team and Florence beat them 43-7.
-
And another thing. If Florence has truly played nobody, wouldn’t their overall record be 0-0 right now?
-
I realize they’ve had their cupcakes in non-region play, but a bad football team would struggle eating 4 weeks worth of cupcakes. The insulin levels would be off the charts. I don’t think a bad football team would be able to win the games at the level in which they did. Heck, they are the only team in Region 3 who is 4-0 right now and quite frankly they are the last team I thought would be 4-0 to start the season. Will the real test be this Friday at Laurel? Sure it will be. Their coach is trying to turn things around and instill some confidence. Sometimes the only way to stimulate that is to have the cupcakes . Let’s see if that diet stimulated their metabolism against Laurel.
-
Even if Florence were to lose, but not get blown out they can still make some noise. It’ll be a game in Mississippi to keep a close eye on for sure.
-
At the beginning of the season I never would have thought this would have been an intriguing matchup, but with the way Florence has significantly stepped up their game this could be an old fashioned slobberknocker. Laurel probably has a slight advantage at Watkins Field, but if Florence were to come away with a W, I don’t think it would surprise me. What are your thoughts on this game?
-
There ain’t no way PRC is scoring 14 on Picayune. They’ll be lucky to get within field goal range and then they would have to attempt the field goal at that point. Picayune will dictate that score.
-
Well Vott, I guess things didn’t work out the way we thought. Meridian must have been chomping at the bit to play a game and get a win. Why don’t you come to Picayune for our next home game and check out the Maroon Tide Defense. It’s a sight to behold.

I think region 3-5A will closely resemble a drawing out of a hat when it’s all said and done.
