That’s more like unrealistic LOL!
-
West Jones would probably mercy rule Petal and North Forrest anyway. I agree with your sentiment.
-
East Central, George County, & Gautier all have to travel to Picayune this year. Let that be some food for thought .
-
Who do you think will give Picayune the biggest run for the money in region 4-5A? Would it be Gautier or George County?
-
It's not if you expect to beat Petal. It would be if Petal is supposed to have the better team and Hattiesburg beats them.
-
Fair enough response BrickCity. If he pulls it off I'll definitely tip may cap to him. I just don't see Poplarville with the horses to beat Picayune this year, but they most certainly will play hard-nosed, disciplined football.

PRC at Bay St. Louis (Aug. 19th)

I have the utmost respect for Jay Beech, but why do you think this will happen? I'd like to be enlightened.
-
PRC over Hancock (would that even be considered an upset?)
-
Home runs galore LOL!
-
It's been 98 years since Hattiesburg last won a state title. Hattiesburg might as well do it in 2024 so they can have their centennial celebration LOL!
-
Wow! All I have to say is good luck pulling that off. Those rose colored glasses might have you a little bit delusional LOL!
-
Honestly Vott, it's probably a little bit of both. We get the folks who move into Pearl River County from Louisiana and then there are people who want to save on their taxes, so yes PRC has definitely gotten bigger than Picayune. Will the two schools always be close to the same size? From a numbers standpoint they probably will, but the days of Picayune being larger than PRC are definitely over with.
-
Those were definitely some good battles, but we'll see what happens when they come out with the reclassification. I think Picayune will be borderline between a small 6A and a large 5A. I honestly have no idea how the new classifications and regions will shape up, but I know for sure that PRC is pretty much a lock for 6A. I'm just ready to get some boiled peanuts and watch some Friday night football to be honest.

Well that's news to me and I had no idea they still did it. Maybe someone who pays for the thing can post a list.
-
You would probably be better off coming up with your own list since the Clarion Liar is a complete joke of a newspaper now-a-days. I don't even know if they still do that anymore. I remember when they used to have the Super 10 and Little 10 polls along with the Dandy Dozen list before the season, but that was probably when the newspaper was in its heyday. There may be a publication like MS Gridiron that puts something like that out, but I honestly have no idea.
-
The folks in region 3-5A might beg to differ, but who knows
-
According to AHSFHS.org they appear to be pretty bad. They only scored 8 points last year.
-
Vott - If PRC makes the playoffs then they would definitely have an unexpected season. Now granted I don't know what Jacob Owen's expectations are for this year, but the potential is there for them to make the playoffs. It's his job to put those players in a position to be successful. If he doesn't then that will obviously be on him.

Well pancho, football players should be accustomed to the heat. The appeasement is probably for the fans more than anything, but 30 minutes one way or the other doesn't really amount to a hill of beans. If they do away with the standard time like they're supposed to next year and keep the daylight savings time all year there might be an argument to move some of the games back to 7:30. Now as far as the junior high games they could definitely move those back to like 7:00 because you literally fry at those games.

Great job by Brad Cumbest! He absolutely crushed that baseball. Dawgs Win Again!

Let me first start off by saying welcome to MST PMT95. I also don’t have any ill will towards Cody Stogner. The only thing I did was express my opinion on a message board. I would love to be completely wrong with my opinion, but I’m glad I stirred the pot LOL! You are more than welcome to PM me and I’ll try to answer all of your questions as best as I can.

I think Poplarville will be just fine this season. Jay Beech has an extremely talented football team and he will have them right back deep into the playoffs. I think he will beat Picayune on Friday night, but I don’t know by how much. I would love for Picayune to win Friday night, but Poplarville seems to be more of a veteran team. I think folks will get a chance to see just how special Khalid Moore really is.

That’s very interesting. Who do you think will get the shaft?
