Yes I agree we need to beat Kentucky this week. I also understand we have been historically bad against Alabama, but I feel like if we had played them Saturday that we would have beaten them. We are better than Texas A&M and they almost pulled off the upset. I also understand we will play a 100% healthy Alabama team in two weeks. If Alabama has any vulnerabilities then we will need to exploit them and capitalize on them in order to keep the game competitive. With this veteran team that we have I feel like we will play better against Alabama this year. I honestly have no idea when Mike Leach will beat Alabama, but it will take some unconventional thinking and game planning in order to do so. Mike Leach checks that box and that is why he got hired. Mississippi State & Mike Leach have always had to do more with less and that won't change anytime soon or ever, but he has the ability to do so. If we take care of Kentucky this week, then the Alabama game has the potential to be a special game (win or lose) if we go in there and play a good football game.

Clarkdale only lost to Morton by a score of 21-17, so that wasn't a terrible loss. Can Clarkdale use that loss to help them refocus? Will Clarkdale defend their home turf and get their 4th win over Enterprise? It sounds like the makings of a win for Clarkdale, but we shall see.

Well I was surprised that KJ didn’t play today. I think Sam Pittman probably thought he was playing as well. Great win for the Bulldogs! Any win over Arkansas is a sweet one. I was pleased with our rushing game today and Dillon Johnson is an absolute beast. Hopefully we can get our PAT/field goal unit fixed. That was five points left on the field that should be on the scoreboard. Overall great win for State and it should vault us into the top 20 in both polls.

Well Vott I still have hope that Laurel will be on the outside looking in, but if Florence keeps losing then Laurel will unfortunately be in the #4 spot.

Yes Clarkdale had a good year last year, so maybe next week’s game might have some importance to it.

Well that’s good, but my post wasn’t about Clarkdale’s previous coach. I’m glad he got to experience a winning season.

Their previous coach was 33-49 overall with losing stints at Heidelberg Academy and Clarkdale. You call that good?

For a team to have a historical 28% winning percentage, kudos to the coach at Clarkdale for not bending the knee and accepting the historical norm. I think this might be his first year, but here's proof that you don't need a whole bunch of time to turn something around. If he can get Clarkdale into the playoffs and win the first round then he has definitely done an outstanding job.
