College Baseball is oh so close to being here!

Well I think we know that’s the recipe for us Mississippi SEC teams to have success in regionals and super regionals to get to the CWS, but if State doesn’t have the team this year to make a deep postseason run, then I’d like to see them do well in the SEC Tournament. -
@BrickCityyou may have just found you a new rivalry game for this year.
-
How did this become a Meridian, Laurel, and Harrison Central tryst or is it just about Meridian and Laurel at this point?
-
70-0 in one football season. That's pretty dang impressive because they'll be playing football games daily for 10 straight weeks.
-
I'm curious to know which top 10 teams Harrison Central will beat? Is it a certain classification listed since he said all?

Hopefully they'll let Lo get some pitching in. I think everyone wants to see him pitch to one batter right handed and then the next left handed. He definitely has the potential to be a game changer as long as he keeps his pitches in the strike zone from both arms. -
Well there certainly isn't any difference in South Mississippi. There may be some difference around Corinth or Southaven, but probably not.
-
August games don't really bother me either Dub. I'm probably like everyone else wishing it was cooler and less humid that time of year and wanting a break from mowing grass, but with the 7:30 start time the sun is mostly set without that 2:00 in the afternoon frying heat. It's still hot and humid and you're still going to sweat but things could be worse and I've experienced that before.

State's baseball team will be practically brand new. I know we've got some veteran return guys like Hancock and Clark, but I think State gets in the top 25 somewhere along this season. How State finishes though is a complete mystery. I'd like to see State do something in the SEC Tournament because the drive to Hoover isn't that far and State fans could really fill the thing quite well. -
Picayune doesn't have one.
-
This makes way too much sense. Unfortunately I don't know if we will ever see this particular model applied though.
-
Even so that could be an improvement and if you could move the jamborees to the last Friday in August for 5A-7A that would help things as well. The fan inside of me isn’t a fan of fewer football games, but I’ll take the trade-off for a September start date for sure.
-
Oops I forgot about those. Oh well it’s a nice thought anyway.
-
It most definitely is but even if they could shift everything back just one week, I think that would be a big difference. Instead of having state championships the first weekend in December, go ahead and move them back to the second weekend. That certainly wouldn’t be detrimental by any means.
-
Region 3-6A and region 2-7A will have only 4 division games. So yes I can definitely see the argument there especially starting the seasons after Labor Day, but that doesn't appear to be happening for some reason or another.
-
Picayune had that week 2 opening for the longest, but they filled it with a school from Baton Rouge. It's been a good minute since Picayune has played Wayne County, but hopefully we can get y'all in the rotation soon.
-
I agree with everything you said by 2,000%. I think ya'lls region will be the most competitive in the South 5A-7A, but 5A North is weaker than watered down sweet tea. I hate the 7 class system as well, but it's probably here to stay unless the MHSAA decides to get ungreedy.
-
I fully expect y'all to be at the Point City Invitational in less than 11 months LOL!
-
West Jones will be 6A, so Wayne County doesn't have to worry about them come playoff time.
-
You can call me crazy and I may have to eat some crow later on (which I'm perfectly ok with), but I just don't see Wayne County losing to Laurel even if they have to play them twice.
-
The 8/24 game at Oak Grove looks like a tough one right out of the gate for Wayne County, but the rest of the tougher opponents they have, they get them at home. From the eye test it looks like a favorable schedule for the War Eagles. If they don't run the table in 4-5A, I'll be surprised. Having Laurel at home will be huge for Wayne County.

Arnett got him in the boat, but as a walk on. Maybe there’s some gridlock with scholarships, but I honestly don’t have any idea. I’m just glad we have another QB.
-
Maybe somebody who understands this more than I do can explain this, but why does 247 Sports have Vic Sutton listed as a walk on? Do they not have a scholarship to give him?
-
State got your QB Vic Sutton. How is he and will he do a good job?
