Dawg83 Posted October 19, 2022 Share Posted October 19, 2022 Huge game in Baton Rouge, and also another game in Tuscaloosa that is probably going to be a lot less interesting lol. We’ve finally reached the point in OM’s schedule where we will really see what they’re made of. Vegas has this game as a virtual pickem, OM opened as a slight favorite and it’s now shifted slightly toward LSU. I’ll be honest, I have no idea what to make of LSU. They have some of the same Jekyll and Hyde tendencies that State has. I do think Jayden Daniels is underrated, and he’s coming off his best game last week. Similarly, I think Ole Miss is good but I have no idea how good because the schedule hasn’t tested them much at all. I think this has a chance to be a super entertaining game and as much of a toss up as you’ll see this year. If I had to call it right now, I think I’m taking LSU at home. Final score of 42-38 or something to that effect. State at Bama…. Do we have to talk about this one? lol. State has played Bama immediately after a loss more than anyone else since Saban has been there. And it has never gone well. Just think this is a horrible matchup all the way around for State. And angry Bama is the last team you want to play when you’ve got issues of your own to be fixed. Bama wins by a lot. The real question for me is does State finally score a TD in Tuscaloosa. Not a great week of games otherwise. Only other game of semi interest is A&M at South Carolina. I think I like SC in this one, that’s a tough stadium to play in and should be a good environment for a night game. Nationally there are some OK games but nothing I think that will generate a ton of interest. Syracuse-Clemson would be way more interesting to me if it weren’t at Clemson. Our old pal Garrett Shrader has the Cuse at 6-0 and in the Top 15. But winning at Clemson may be too much to ask. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
rebmus Posted October 20, 2022 Share Posted October 20, 2022 IF Ole Miss plays 4 full quarters well, I'd bet heavily OM wins. Since that hasn't happened in 7 games, this will be a close game IMO. I lean LSU wins since they host. Bama wins, but I think MSU keeps is closer than most think. A&M is favored, but I'm with you 83... South Carolina wins at home. I'm rooting for Shrader and the Cuse, but I wouldn't bet on them winning at Clemson. Two other top 25 matchups: #9 UCLA at #10 Oregon. Oregon is favored by 6. I lean UCLA covers, and possibly wins. #20 Texas at #11 Oklahoma State. Texas is favored by 6.5. IF I bet on sports, this is the one game this weekend I'd be tempted to throw money at. I’m not sure State crosses the 50 without the aid of penalties or turnovers. Im going it’s LSU at home. They seem to be getting between offensively. I thought OMs defense had turned the corner against UK, but they’ve given up a ton of yards the last two weeks. While LSU is playing better, OM is playing better Cuse with an epic upset over Clemson. Shrader & Company end Clemson’s home winning streak., A&M over USC Okie State over Texas Oregon > ucla KSTATE ends TCU’s fairy ride. They are a good team but it ends this weekend. Everyone kinda forgot about the Ducks after Georgia eviscerated them, but they’ve been playing well. The Chip Kelly turnaround at UCLA has been a slow burn but they’ve gotten better every year and have some really dynamic playmakers this year. If they find a way to win this game they have a legitimate path to 11-1 or 12-0. Would be interesting to have a PAC 12 team in the playoff mix when they haven’t really come close in years. It’s clear after three years that Saban has Leach totally and completely figured out. 0, 9, and looking like another 0 points this year. There is no creativity with State’s offense. They are going to run the same handful of plays no matter the score. If it works, great. If it doesn’t, it’s ugly, and there’s no Plan B. It’s going to take an upset of Georgia or Ole Miss for most to feel like this is a successful year. Don’t think 7-5, which is what I’m expecting, is going to move the needle at all. I will get laughed at for this but that last Touchdown was huge. Team needed to get that monkey off their back. A much needed week off and then four games to finish out the season. One sure win.
