I know not to take much from that, but that’s an intriguing score.

My son is on JV squad for Ocean Springs so we were at the game. I will say Pascagoula did look improved from what I have seen. Ocean Springs looks like a team breaking in a ton of new people. It is definitely a step or two back defensively. I expected more from the offense, but breaking in a new quarterback and all, it may take some time to gel it all together. I think Ocean Springs will be a good team this year, but they may take some lumps. They could be 1-4 going into region play. Not because they are bad, but their schedule is so tough. Playing Madison, Oak Grove, Picayune and Northwest Rankin while breaking in a new crew on defense will be a tall task in the pre-region.

Thanks for the insight there.  It’ll be interesting to see how Ocean Springs fares in that coastal region .

I still expect for them to be in the hunt with Gulfport. But from what I am hearing, Gulfport appears to have taken a step forward. Especially adding some transfers from Harrison Central.

Ocean Springs is most assuredly going to take some lumps.  That defensive front seven is shockingly undersized and doesn't appear all that quick -- Pascagoula moved the ball easily on the ground and in the short passing game.

Once again, they have a dynamic QB but his mechanics need honing and the wideouts better start catching balls or the punter is going to get plenty of reps.
