hasbeen67
What happened with the MSU RB, he just didn't have his stuff together or what?

I'm sure many are wondering as well but coach Lebby stated that the matter was internal and didn't comment further. Anything other than an official statement from either a representative of the program or the player himself would likely constitute pure speculation. Depth at RB may well be Miss State's greatest weakness this season.
Dawg83
It’s unclear where exactly he stood on the depth chart. I assumed he would be starting or close to starting but it’s possible that’s not true. This was the least access to preseason camp I can remember a State coach allowing other than the 2020 COVID year but that was just the world at the time. So almost nobody knows if this was a playing time issue or if it was something else.

Kirby Smart at UGA is said to be known for running tight-lipped camps as well so doing so isn't necessarily a bad thing. There's no film on Miss St. yet and with the initial 4 games of the season being so crucial to finding 6 wins this year, I can understand any desire Lebby might have to maintain and leverage as much of an early season advantage as possible by keeping information in house. Dawg83
Maybe not a surprise at this stage but Deion Smith officially ruled ineligible for OM this year.
pancho
LSU did him no favors while he was there and the Dantae Jones mass study event this summer fell just short.
Insideradvantage
From what I gather, LSU required absolutely nothing of him academically. Of course that's mainly on him, but still.
pancho
he should have been allowed to withdraw at LSU but wasn't allowed to. so I'm told

Luckily I’m talking about Juice Kiffin. Juice Wells on the other hand by all reports is 100% and been looking outstanding so far. These 7 days need to hurry up!!! Is Juice injured bad? NoWammies
Na everything I’ve been told is they’re just taking all precautions to have him completely 100% for the SEC part of the schedule and are able to do so with the solid play this summer of Cayden Lee and Ayden Williams. He played the other night in the scrimmage prep. Same is going for Prince.
NoWammies
It might get fans who are expecting to put up 70 points restless but I don’t expect to see much from the passing game for the first two weeks anyways. I think Kiffin will rely on the running game and not open the playbook up.
Dawg83
Side tangent here but this Joe Moorhead interview making the rounds the last day or so sure is something. This guy genuinely can’t understand why State fired him. And is clearly still hung up on it. Him knowing Leach and Arnett’s W/L records so easily says a lot. That 2018 season will make State fans mad for a really long time.
pancho
he's pretty much a douche of a HC
Bulldogs4
I liked JM but his coaching style was way too loose. He badly underachieved in 2018 with the nation’s best defense. The discipline with the team was worse than Sherrill’s 2003 team. And after saying that, had we not totally blown the bowl game after going up 14-0 over Louieville, he would have remained the coach in 2020. It was the right decision at the time. When he was hired, I think we all thought it was a good hire but he was not the right person for the job.

He’s 4-20 as head coach at Akron. My take is he’s just a good OC (only when surrounded with great talent) that doesn’t have good head coach qualities. They loved him at Penn State and Oregon, but he wasn’t running the show at either place. Edited August 29, 2024 by Dawg83
rebmus
Coach Prime and his Buffalos are struggling with a division 2/FCS team. Best game I've found tonight.
NoWammies
NC State struggling with Western Carolina. Down 21-17 late in the 3rd. Shocker right there.

NoWammies
Strangeness during the UAPB/Arkansas game. UAPB was penalized at the beginning of each half for not wearing contrasting uniforms against Arkansas. I’ve seen USC/UCLA and Florida/Georgia do it all the time. NoWammies
Also I know it’s against UAPB but 10 drives with 10 TD’s is pretty impressive. Now what can they do next week against Okie St?

Pine Bluff is probably one of the 2-3 worst teams in FCS. Yall know how bad Mississippi Valley is….. Pine Bluff lost to them by 25 last year. I may have been too kind, they’re possibly THE worst FCS team. Edited August 30, 2024 by Dawg83
NoWammies
Pretty much went chalk last night. Thought might have a couple upsets the way it was looking but both Colorado and NC State pulled it out late. Sad news was Minnesota wasted a lot of good fireworks when they went off right after missing the game winning FG against UNC. ACC May have pulled out some wins last night, but none were very impressive.
