What y’all think?  
 

Terry looking to complete what they for sure felt they should have accomplished a month ago?  They supposedly were missing their best weapon last time the two played and he lit up George county last week.  But so did most teams all year light up George county’s defense.

 

West Jones looking to right done wrongs from that last meeting ( I seriously got texts less than an hour from the end of the Wj/Hancock game that the players and coaches were amped they get terry again).  They had a bye week the week after that game and started in earnest to work out some things on offense and it seems to have worked as they scored over 40 in every game since other than the 37 scored at Hattiesburg (and missed a extra point and field goal during that game).

I do not think this will be close at all. But high school football is unpredictable sometimes. I mean Terry could have easily beat WJ that first game and some people ( myself included) thought that WJ was not as good as their record said it was and others (not including myself) thought that Terry was very underrated. Then Hattiesburg goes and totally blows Terry out 39-0 and hold them to less than 100yds of offense. So then all the hype is the WJ-HHS matchup and we all know how that went. And finally WJ winning over Hancock was expected. But Terry goes out and beats a very good George Co team and really did so in dominating style as GC was down by double digits in the 4th period. I expect a 28-13 score this go around.

I don't think you'll get a repeat of that 2-0 ballgame.  West Jones has learned from that and I think you'll see them score touchdowns in this game.  This game should be more lopsided.

He had an unbelievable game for sure by scoring two KO returns for TD's , a pick 6, and three offensive td's. GC defense might not of played their best game but NOT LIT UP!  If you take away all special team td's, pick six's, and fumble returns for td's on year.  GC defense averaged giving up 18.5 points a game. I wouldn't call that being LIT UP all year.  24 turnovers on defense was not too bad either.  Good Luck to Terry.

Sounds like GC was a sloppy team if you have to take away all of that. They deserved to be eliminated

I'm sure Terry feels like they can come in and win, after the 2 0 game, and getting their best player back last week.

But WJ has played their best football offensively the last few weeks. Defense has been good all year.

Unless they get some turnovers or special teams scores, I don't think Terry can keep up.

Man, you seriously don’t watch games and go off score alone. I’ve told you all year that the defense is fine. GC gave up 2 KOs and a pick 6 against Terry. The same guy.

have you told me all year?  Because until the last 2/3 weeks I don’t recall mentioning George county.  But I don’t call a defense that only held 4 opponents bellow 20 points all year a good defense.

I've put on here multiple times that the defense has kept them in games and that they've given up 5 KOs for TDs and it's been an unfortunate year of turnovers that have been direct TDs for the other team via pick 6, fumble returns, or bad snaps on punt/ blocked punts. I'm just specifically defending the defense because there were a lot of scores that looked different than the final numbers say. WE all know that the defense gets the blame for points given up even if the offense has a TO that is a direct TD for the opposing team.

you are right. points allowed by a defense is not the same as points allowed on the scoreboard. you have to put blame where it is. if its points off turnver by the offense then its on the offense -special teams points are not allowed by the defense either. but there is no denying it all matters in the end...so maybe the defense saves some face if you look at scoring in its entirety...but those other issues are very real and will sink any team in the playoffs. Football is the ultimate team sport. no offense, defense, or special team can win a championship without support from the other parts of the team.
