Like very soon.. Joy Lee should have retired tge 3rd/4th/5th time her cancer flared up going back several years ago. But she won’t. Instead she coaches half the season or less and basically holds Usm women’s basketball hostage because they do not want to be that school to tell the coach with cancer to gtfo. Last year before taking the ULM job bilderback was basically waiting on the Usm off I was told it was all set up and joy lee was just going to announce retirement. Then she decided not too. Easily the best football facilities in the state. The only place I would say compares in South Panola because they have a good size indoor facility. I have been inside Petal's facilities multiple times. If I didn't know about something, I would not comment about it. Petal's facilities are better than most but not the best. Petal has a nice place. Im not taking anything away from them. And Honestly, they were one of the first big schools to update their facilities to what they are today. David44 Posted November 15, 2023 Share Posted November 15, 2023 Yeah, Petal has top notch facilities, but so do many of the schools mentioned above, and they have success on the football field. I think this job would appeal to a younger up and coming coach,, that has kids who would benefit from what Petal offers academically. If that was the end all be all, you wouldn’t have had to settle for this last head coach in the first place. Petal is a good job but it’s not exactly a no brainer move compared to the other 7a programs in the state.
