That felt like a Sly Croom and Woody McCorvey win for State. Horrible to watch but a win is a win I guess. State’s bowl chances are very much alive for the moment.

UCF gave Oklahoma all they wanted. 

Plumlee is the QB and Gus is the coach for UCF.

That was first half versus Bama Arkansas the whole game.

Missouri all over USCe 24-0 already.

The other UT is embarrassing Alabama at the half in Tuscaloosa.  275 yards to 133.

I mentioned that Alabama can sometimes beat a team twice but more than that I think you saw an Arkansas team that was worn out. After playing LSU, A&M, OM and Bama back to back to back to back, their tank was just empty. 
 

As I mentioned last night, we just needed to win a game. Coach Sherrill used to say “he loved ugly wins.”

 

So I will take it and enjoy it.

That one flipped in a hurry. Bama on a 27-0 run and up comfortably now.

 

I am equally convinced that this is the worst Bama team in 15 years and also that they are probably going undefeated in SEC play.

Back to Arkansas, I’m not sure Pittman gets another year. 6 straight losses is real bad. And today was at home against a not good State team. Hard to see them finishing better than 4-8 now.

And I love the firing up a cigar for the winners in the UA/UT game. Great tradition and I hope they keep it going. So many things have been neutered in the present day. It is good that this has been continued.

4-8 looks like the ceiling for Arkansas right now. 

 

Arkansas likely beats FIU to get 3 wins. I don't think they'll beat Mizzou. 

That leaves @ Florida and vs Auburn... a split in these two would be good for Arkansas.

I think it's a fun tradition, but I'm surprised it's allowed. 

 

ETA:

Isn't smoking "not allowed in the stadium" at all SEC schools?

Oddly enough for State, I still don’t think they’re any good but I don’t see a single game on the schedule remaining that I think is an auto loss.

 

They’re absolutely not going 9-3. But could they grit their way to an ugly 6-6 or 7-5? Yeah, I could see it. But I could also see 5-7 and no bowl game.

 

I think the win today increased the odds of Arnett being back next year by a pretty large amount, unless they lose the next three and get blown out on Thanksgiving night.

That was a much needed win for State.   I’ll still go with a 5-7 finish.  Today was a surprise and any other SEC win would be a surprise also.   Props to their defense for holding Arkansas to 200 yards and 3 points.  
 

83 was spot on with this being the worst Alabama team in a while and odds are they’ll go undefeated in SEC play.  Tennessee could have done OM a favor, but didn’t show up teh second half. 
 

Auburn is hanging score wise with OM, but I don’t see them keeping it up a whole game.

That was my point. That it technically is not supposed to be allowed but I think the “powers that be” just kind of let it go on. 
Every one understands that it is just this one game that it has been a part of the tradition of for many decades. And only done once at the end the game. 
 

Obviously it is different than people smoking a pack of cigarettes during a game.

Ole Miss and Auburn look like two teams trying to lose a game in the first half.

Ole Miss needs to put this to bed soon. Already seeing some Jordan Hare weirdness. The more they let Auburn hang around the more dangerous this gets.

With 2:32 to go in the 3rd Quarter: 

Auburn is 4/6 passing with 0 (passing) TDs and 1 INT...and this is a tie game.

Score a TD here and the game is basically over.

Props to Ole Miss and MSU for picking up SEC wins on the road today.

Ole Miss wins on the road in a place that’s not easy to win, especially at night. I don’t quite know what to make of this OM team but they are winning games they are supposed to win. And will likely be favored to be 8-1 when they travel to Athens in a few weeks.

Good teams win close games and ugly games.  LSU, Arkansas and Auburn could have all gone either way, but OM won all of them.  When that happens you could end up with a special season.  You give yourself a chance to be in the running for the SECCG at the end.

OM still just has 1 loss, and Georgia has looked very beatable at times this year.  I’ve never been a fan of comparing scores, but if you are the Auburn game is very comparable.   Plus, we’ve seen Georgia struggle at home this year also.  
 

I do think OM has to play better than they have the last two SEC games to even think about beating Georgia.  They’ll need to play better to beat A&M, I believe.  Hell, if you count how bad their defense looked against LSU, OM probably played their best against Bama, but lost.

I haven’t seen quite a high enough level of play to feel like OM can win at Georgia. But even if they lose that one, 10-2 is still on the table and that would be a heck of a year. You’re probably at worst in the Citrus Bowl with a very strong chance make the NY6. I think the Sugar Bowl is a Playoff game this year so it would have to be one of the others.
