CFB Week 3 Thread

We will definitely learn a lot about Ole Miss sooner rather than later with Bama and LSU in consecutive weeks.

State at South Carolina next week is MASSIVE for both teams. Still think it’s a winnable game for State if certain adjustments are made, and you’d be 3-1 with still a lot to play for if you can pull it out.

Disappointing showing by USM today. I am really surprised that in 3 years Will Hall still hasn’t gotten their offense figured out.

Ole Miss can defeat both Bama and LSU if they can stop the LSU offense(could be 90 points combined)

South Carolina D will render the barbay experiment on offense null and void

The USM offense is puzzling thus far

I don’t think LSU is a great matchup for Ole Miss. But the Bama game could be interesting if Bama is still a disaster at QB,

If you made me call it today after watching for three weeks, I think Ole Miss finishes 8-4 or 9-3 and State goes 5-7 or 6-6.

This is where it sucks having those “winnable” games on the road.  Auburn, Arkansas and A&M.   State will have to get two upsets to get bowl eligible.   5-7.  I’m giving them one upset.

I’ve got OM at 9-3, possibly 10-2 if they can beat Bama in Tuscaloosa, but they could very well lose to A&M or Auburn.

Ole Miss @ Bama is intriguing matchup. There is certainly a path forward for Ole Miss to win.
Bama is an enigma currently. They don’t seem to have the same cohesion as usual Bama teams.

Keys for Ole Miss.

1. 1 or zero turnovers and force at least 2 turnovers for Bama.

2. Break even on special teams.
3. DL has to hold their own up front against Bama’s OL. Which is very possible.

The possibility exists for Ole Miss to win this game.

Now that Bama knows the backup QBs aren’t accurate either, I figure they’ll go back to Milroe because he is at least a threat to run too.

Honestly, they are kinda stupid if they don’t. Buchner is not a good QB and Simpson is not ready yet.

I watched the end of that game. Arkansas looked as bad or worse than State.

One hell of a catch to put BYU ahead.

It’s a shame about Arkansas because Jefferson is so fun to watch.   On Arkansas’s last drive to try and tie the game, one lineman had 25 yards of penalties by himself.  Two holding calls and one false start.

I respect Pittman for getting them turned around after the end of Bielema and the whole of Chad Morris were an unreal catastrophe for them.

But I kinda think he may have already hit his ceiling there. And it was when he had two very good coordinators who are no longer there.
