Assault by sideline staff

Have they fired the two Brookhaven Academy coaches that assaulted the Lanar player yet  ?. The one that threw the punch should be arrested.

From what I read the one that first shoved the lid was not a coach, but an injured player on sideline wearing same outfit as coaches.  Regardless, that person stepped towards the qb before shoving him.  He should have been ejected. 
 

the coach that threw what looked like 2-3 punches should be arrested for assault on a minor for sure.

I thought he was a coach but you are right he stepped towards him trying to trip him and then threw a forearm. 
 

They should also get some  kind of postseason discipline as well .

One of the videos from farther off it looked like a coach or someone from Lamar side that ran over was going after the coach but an official and someone else stopped him.

There was a fight a couple weeks back at the one I can’t think of name, in flowood, starts with “H”, when students were jawing at player from other team. He snapped went after students and a coach from his team did as well.  A parent from the home school came over screaming then the coach and patent went to exit and apparently threw hands.

Not condoning anybody’s actions, but if the MAIS didn’t have the stupid playoff format, this never happens. But I bet it’s not the MAIS’s fault.

If the first one that made contact was a player he should be out of school and the coaches involved definitely fired

I read somewhere the qb wasejected and 2 penalties against Lamar. My guess is from throwing the football in retaliation and the coach on the field. Punishment for Brookhaven is don't have a clue unless offsetting and replay the down without the starting qb.

The coach that grabbed the player by the face mask wasn’t ejected so I read in an article.

I think the refs did the right thing unless they didn’t eject the player that shoved the QB after he went out of bounds. That player, the QB from Lamar, and the coach that went after the QB should all have been ejected. The coach should also be suspended next season for a few games.

The only person ejected was the qb.  For throwing the ball into another player.  Nothing was done to Brookhaven during the game.

dAccording to Clarion Ledger this morning 2 players from Lamar were ejected. An assistant coach from BA and another person on the BA team were also ejected. The investigation is on going. The Lamar coach dis say a few words out of respect to the BA coach.

Between the participation trophies, bad refs, awful challenge/review system, embarrassing fight… this weekend was a black eye for the MAIS.

I don't blame the player one bit for reacting to the ass holic behavior. oh yea and the mais is stoopit for having so many participation trophies

Lamar got the best revenge, they beat hell out of them on the field where it counted. Those folks from Brookhaven are just poor sports.

You’re right they did on the scoreboard. The MAIS could stop some of that poor sportsmanship by making an example out of some of them.

Brookhaven Academy,  in my experience,  has a tradition of ticky tack garbage. When my oldest boy played basketball at Central Hinds, their girls team beat CHA 64-4... left their starters in until 1 minute remained in the game.

The qb threw the football at Brookhaven coach or player. He got no probation.

Apparently they can still go to the playoffs in 2026.

This is just a slap on the wrist as to what could have happened to them. The MAIS handled both this situation and the Marshal situation terribly. In a sense they rewarded Marshal with exactly what they wanted to start with a division II championship. The Brookhaven Academy situation come on a $1500 fine really what is that going to do. The coach that actually grabbed the kid should have been fired period.
