Why isn't "you know who" being mentioned as a finalist?  I think King would do good there, but man oh man it's super simple to pick up the phone and make a call.  Just need a dialtone LOL.

Lane Brady would have Goula in the 7A State Championship game by year 2! That is right. They would win 6A AND 7A with him at the helm. LOL

Call me crazy, but as much as Picayune plays Pascagoula I want Pascagoula to hire someone that will challenge Picayune's coaching staff and give them fits.  Picayune has got to get better in pass defense and Pascagoula has the opportunity to get someone that I think in the long run will help both teams.

Maybe in 2027 Hattiesburg and Picayune will schedule each other in non region. I know teams from the same class but different regions do not really want to play each other because they could meet in the playoffs. But Hattiesburg and Picayune have played so much recently it would not really matter. Both teams know what the other is gonna do.

I'm sure that's a possibility, but Picayune likes to fill the non-region up with challenging 7A opponents and I think Poplarville is back on permanently as well.  Then Picayune has the opportunity to fill it with the quality out of state Louisiana teams as well.  Who honestly knows what will happen.

Other than Laurel our non region games were all 7a opponents. Of course two of those 7a teams had not been very good the past few seasons.

Let's just say there's a bunch of them in Pearl River County.

Talking about the Coach from Pearl River County beat Picayune this year or the one that has won multiple state titles or the one that is always a final 4 and just got a state title recently? I feel like Pearl River Co. has a couple good options. Im just curious who you narrowing that down to.

I wasn't referring to a coach that is currently coaching within the confines of Pearl River County.

It's a very attractive job -- one of the better paying in the state and the town is undergoing a revitalization of sorts.  But I'm not thrilled with this hiring process, especially the formation of an idiotic committee in which its membership includes teachers and other district employees.

What makes you think he'd be interested in the Pascagoula job? Seems like he's doing more than fine where he is.

If Pascagoula goes a different route, that’s perfectly fine and it appears that’s the direction they are going.  If opportunities don’t present themselves, that’s okay too.  There’s also nothing wrong with advocating for someone who has the experience and is deserving of a destination type job as well.

I never questioned whether he had the experience or was deserving or not. Obviously, he checks both of those boxes.

@ArcherWhat does this hire feel like to you?  I'm curious to hear your take on it.

Ho hum.  I know he's been required to retain a certain quota of assistants which is none too surprising and equally disappointing.

I had a feeling you felt that way.  Something just seems off though, but I can't quite put my finger on it.  I honestly hope I have this all wrong, but I just sense a regression with Pascagoula now.  I'm not saying Pascagoula whiffed on a hire, and I'm not saying this is a bad hire even though my statements may seem to contradict that line of thought.  I just don't want to see Pascagoula regress offensively.  If they can get a solid OC, then this hire could very well work and be a good hire.

I think the AD had stars in his eyes and missed on all of them.  Green was familiar and a good fallback option but, yes, he better have a good offensive staff in the works.
