Holy cow dude…. you didn’t think this through before posting.

Heidelberg has had the same homecoming every year. Just so happens, innocent people gets killed this time and all you was focused on was the weed & alcohol.

I did, you making it seem like Heidelberg is the worst place on earth just because you smelled weed and alcohol

No, you assumed that and associated that all by yourself. When you bring alcohol to a party, the chance of violence increases. When you mix weed and alcohol together, it increases even more. The fact a school allowed that on campus, is really mind blowing to be honest. Sounds like you are wanting to defend the party, and I don’t think that’s good. By all means go throw a party on private property somewhere and smoke and drink all you want. But not at a school.

That’s false. I only mentioned it once, and you focused on that. Which is telling in itself. You are going out of your way to defend weed and alcohol on school campus, and it’s not a good look.

By no means am I defending it because I know what goes on at these homecomings. Not only on here but majority of the people are assuming that’s why it went down. How about we just pray for these families

Breaking from the director of MHSAA:

MHSAA attorneys highly recommend NO tailgating. All Security Measures are to be gone over with officials this week. Extra Security if you allow tailgating. All Security are to updated, hard copied, on Dragonfly and with you at the game. No Alcohol, No Drugs, No Tobacco, No Fire Arms on any Campus at Anytime. If Security or school officials smell alcohol you do not hesitate to send you home.

I like to have myself a drink and use to be an advocate of the devil’s lettuce but never have I thought to myself “man I gotta take this with me to this high school football game because I can’t go without for 3 hours”

Most of us speak with friends, neighbors, etc at the games. Certainly you don't want alcohol or weed breath. And especially if run into that guy wearing a badge.

Interesting that the private organization that oversees athletics is able to tell school districts how to police and enforce their district policies and laws based on the advice of their attorneys. The same organization that selectively enforces it's own policies, procedures, and rules as they feel fit with zero oversight.

The entire situation is horrible, but pushing all the districts to remove tailgating is absurd.

A recommendation not a mandate. In other words you have been warned, your on your own if you get a law suit filed against you. Then we will ban you from the field, shut your season down, etc etc.

They are on their own regardless for lawsuits. Every part of that falls on each district. The only thing that falls under them is what happens on the field. Everything else is on the school district. They aren't cutting into their kingdom for anything or anyone.

I understand what the mhsaa is trying to do, but there are some football stadiums that are in residential areas and tailgating takes place in folks yards. I dont think mhsaa can advise them to not tailgate if its not on school propert

But when they tell u to update your safety and security procedures they are protecting themselves from harm. Its on u once it happens during the game or toward the players. Someone will get caught with their pants down sooner or later. Your season will be over with or no fans at the game.

Thats bad news for Mize Bay Springs gets an unexpected open date which can be very beneficial this time of year.

Not the least bit worried about that right now. We have 6 starters or 2nd stringers out with injury right now, but should get one back this week that we lost before the season started.
