My understanding is MBI is enroute.

Drugs very rampant there.  Very, very rampant.  I have several customers from the area and have been in a few houses up that way due to my work over the years and I have seen some things.  I knew 2 people that were killed in shootings after bad drug deals at the gas station about 23 years ago.

Just reading WDAM article stating that 2 have died from the shootings. 1 injured.

Prayers for Leland as well. According to Facebook they had a mass shooting after their game. Not sure how many injured or fatalities.

Last I saw 30 people were shot and 10 had passed away. There was also a shooting at Rolling Fork.

A lot of drinking and smoking weed on campus last night. Rumors last night were 4 dead in Heidelberg but news is reporting 2 have been killed.

I think the numbers from Leland are being slightly exaggerated as well. I been searching online for a bit and saw 4 died there and it was not on school campus.

Heidelberg’s was definitely on campus. They had a huge tailgate party, and there were a lot of drunk people and you could smell the weed from a mile away. I will be surprised if the school doesn’t get in trouble for this.

Getting away from the tragedy for a second, Heidelberg’s team itself might possibly be,  if not probably is, the best 2A team in history. I always had 1995 taylorsville and one of the Bassfield teams as the best 2A teams of all time. This Heidelberg team is easily in that conversation and they very well could be the best ever. They are huge and have so much speed. All of their skill players are huge. Their line is huge. They have speed everywhere. There is not a weakness at any position. I know they lost week 1 against Noxubee, but I honesty don’t think they would if they played again. I think they would win 3A and 4A. You do not see 2A teams like this but ever so often.

Just saw where one of the suspects is an 18 year old. I’m assuming he’s a student, or was last year maybe.

Idk I remember those Jamal Peters Bassfield teams were top 10 in the state. Taylorsville had some elite years too

This Heidelberg team is easily in that conversation. They lost to a nationally ranked team by 3 on the road in Tennessee. They will steamroll everybody left on their schedule. I will be shocked if they don’t have a running clock every single game that’s left

I’m getting my years confused. It wasn’t 2007 Bassfield, but it was one of those teams. Maybe 2012

2007 is when West Bolivar beat a Billy Hamilton Taylorsville team. Gotta be the 2012 Bassfield team who blew out a good Eupora team in the championship.

That’s right. They were undefeated that year. Their closest games were against East Marion (won by 3) and Mize (won by 21). Oh and FCHAS. And FCAHS was loaded that year in 4A

No they won’t. Their 9th and 10 graders are really good. Their whole team looks physically dominant.

Hattiesburg could be rife for this one day as they make visitors walk right beside Hattiesburg tailgate area to get in the visitor side.

Had they not been mired with horrible coaching for the last decade it more they would likely have several titles and would have top 3-4 team in their class every year.  They could be the West Point of their class.  Tons of talent for a small school and it will remain as such till a larger school takes a chance on hiring away Daryl Carter. And even then they would have to whiff on the next coaching hire. 
 

Or the state legislature passes the law allowing kids to pick and choose schools and most of them gets recruited away by jones county schools.
