Poor coaching resulted in 2nd round exits. Taylorsville knows how to win and win the big ones. Agee has those kids believing again. Going to be a lot of rumblings to start parting ways with this staff after week 1. I hope I’m wrong but change can be good. Mize out coached T ville last night. What ultimately killed your school is too many parents raising bad kids that drove away all the good teachers and students. Sooner or later the town of Tville has to take some accountability. Why do you think there is so much turnover with teachers? Ask any of them why they want out of Tville so badly and they will tell you. Too many bad kids. There are good kids and bad kids at every school. But teachers want to be at schools with the least amount of bad kids as possible. Especially if those teachers have kids of their own. Got tired at the end lost two players tonight and two during the jamboree. Lol Taylorsville did not even have a play called for the first play of the second half. choctawman
Let me puts some numbers up for all you Taylorsville haters. T'ville- 42 wins, BS 22 wins 1tie. T'ville -47 wins Mize- 16. T'ville-58 wins Raleigh-18. I lived there for a lot of those wins and my 2 sons played for some of those wins. Everybody likes to kick the dog when he is down. They also got alot of those wins when they were stealing players from west jones. Tville is fighting not to become the next Mount Olive right now.

Money05
26 minutes ago, s1nglewing said: This century? According to AHSFHS, Taylorsville last beat West Jones in 2001. They hold a 10-6 record against them all time. Last meeting between the teams was 2020, but before that they hadn’t met since 2004. The fact of the matter is all Taylorsville has is to live on the past. They are like your crazy uncle that was the star football player for his high school team but after high school ended and real life came he became the average bum that still brags about the time he scored the winning touchdown in the 3rd round of playoffs. The past sure was great, but the present and future have no choice but to get uglier. As said above they are fighting not to become the next Mount Olive. Delusional people don’t realize that the days of Taylorsville being the king of small school MS football are in the rear view mirror. They may win some games and be competitive in 1A, but very slim chance they make it past 3rd round this year with a large senior class. Then if people think this year is dissapointing, just wait until next year.

Oh I have a clue. It’s not a big secret either. Tville had plenty of players back in the day that that were supposed to be at west jones. I know for a fact that in the mid to late 2000s range, a Mize coach used to stop by Raleigh and pick up a kid on his way to Mize . Things used to be much easier in the “head count man” days and many teams used to take full advantage. Including Mize. And of course the last championship in 2004 featured heavily a player that moved in from north Mississippi. French camp I believe. Which I know he officially moved but if memory serves there had to be some clearing and string pulling done with the MHSAA. Luckily for mize, the head coach at the time just happened to be on some boards with the MHSAA and the MAC which made that string pulling just a little bit easier. I can’t speak of any player from Raleigh, cause I have no knowledge of that. But there are no players from Mount Olive that Mize has gotten. There is a line on SCR 53, if you are south of that line you go to Mount Olive. If you are north of that line you go to Mize. They may have a Mount Olive mailing address, as I myself also have one. But they live in Smith county and in the Mize school district. And the player you are thinking of in 2004 was Trell Hagans, and yes he moved to Mize. If you actually move and live in the school district, then you are legit. And Mize was winning state with or without him. We only had two close games that whole season, and that was at south state and the state championship game and he was injured in those games.
