Gentlemen,

Hope you had a fantastic championship weekend! I work on the radio state championship broadcast and I’m working on some production for next year.

I need your help on something. I’m trying to come up with the best rivalry names in the state that I’ve overlooked. I know about Eat dirt, battle for the little brown jug, battle for the golden chicken, etc…… but I know I’m missing some.

I appreciate any help guys!

For the Picayune - PRC game they have shirts made up that says the Backyard Brawl, but I can say for certain that except for a couple years when Collins was at PRC when a couple games was fairly close it hasn’t been much of a brawl for the last 25 years .

That's news to me.  It must have been some PRC folks that came up with that because it's not a rivalry or even a backyard brawl LOL!  The average score between the two schools is 37-14 in favor of Picayune so it's a tough line of thought to call it a rivalry.  Statistically the series has been completely dominated by Picayune.

Picayune-PRC is more than a football rivalry, as it’s a rivalry in other sports. The other sports is where it looks a lot more like a rivalry as well

Well you have a point, but this is the high school football thread on MST.  I don't think the intention of this thread was to find rivalry nicknames in sports other than football.

I'm a North MS native and for the past several years the Booneville/Baldwyn game is the Skunk Bowl, due to a skunk running on the field several years back.

Also Falkner and Walnut play the "Joe Bowl" named after the late Coach Joe Horton, who coached at both schools before he passed away after suffering a heart attack at the end of one of the games between the two.
