slicklizard
15 dollars a person. You do the math. Yall pulling down that kind of cabbage and you can’t showcase our kids and schools on a reliable video broadcast ? Here’s the problem. You are selling the rights to some carpetbaggers who are farming it out to some local rubes being paid nothing. Spend some of that money and get these guys out of the equation. I would probably pay thirty bucks for a reliable feed for all the games. That’s two games I would have went to. Which will probably be three in the end because I will actually physically go to one. Everyone wants it. You would only have to pay the tech people. You could feature some broadcasters from around the state whose teams aren’t playing. I know Kenny and Marshall would probably do one if you paid for their room and feed. It just needs organizing. Why do we keep having this crap product when we deserve better from our state ?
maroontide06
And that NFHS stream yesterday was a complete joke. It was severely behind live play and the thing went out on West Point’s first offensive drive. When it finally came back on after halftime there was no audio and the picture was real jumpy. It was still 5 minutes behind live play as well and they would show these stupid State Treasurer David McRae commercials during live play as well. These streams cost $12.00, so there’s even more embezzlement right there. It’s a shame folks are so greedy.

Arashatora
Realistically, what does MHSAA provide? I'm asking an honest question. Teams pay officials out of their pockets. Officials are essentially trained on the job. Requires nothing from MHSAA except scheduling. Schools pay for their own equipment, travel, coaches etc. Requires nothing of MHSAA. They are part of a network for streaming, which I'm sure they get a kickback from without themselves providing anything. I'm sure they must do something, but I legitimately don't know what it is. oldcoach77
It’s been corrupt going back to Proctor, all they do is pad their pockets. Been that way for years will always be that way, they make deals with all these companies because they all get kickbacks. While meanwhile the Mais has a better broadcast and they have instant replay in championship games. There is no forward thinking by the Misshsaa. They serve no purpose someone needs to request the books and see how much money they have it would open the eyes of a lot of people.
Chunky6617
The MHSAA is BOTH corrupt and inept. It needs a MASSIVE overhaul and downsizing.
Rebel Bert
Maybe they should get local NBC and FOX to carry games on Saturdays and CBS and ABC to carry games on Friday. To avoid NCAA Conference Championship games is my thought. Perhaps C Spire can help get new equipment etc, etc.

TheAnswer
Both the MHSAA and the MAIS are corrupt and inept. Neither association cares about the kids or coaches. It’s all about employees lining their pockets with cash.

Washed_Up_Athlete
MHSAA should get the Raider Network to carry the championships. It’s first class. Bryan Eubank does a great job.
FBdude
What about them sending an email a few weeks back telling schools that coaches can’t coach in any of the “other” all star games and school equipment can’t be used in them either. Who are they to tell coaches what they can and can’t coach in?

Absolutely, they only apply rules when they want to. I was contacted by a large Jackson private school about my son. Offered him free tuition, free place to stay, and were going to try to get me a job. No care at all about the fact this is illegal by MAIS rules. TheAnswer
Exactly. No balls in the MAIS office when it comes to recruiting.

Too bad they didn’t have that this past weekend. I saw a picture and some video of an awfully questionable call in the 4A game that swung the game.
MSSportsGuy
The association has long appeared to be more interested in money than being there for the kids. I understand there are costs to run any organization and I highly doubt any of their employees are getting "rich". However, the extra class, expanded playoffs, constantly increasing admission charges, and continuing to court sponsors for their events and thinking that people can and will just keep paying is laughable. I still laugh at the ridiculousness of the director saying they added the extra class to "increase excitement". That had nothing to do with it and everything to do with another batch of games for various sports.

Regardless, I think at some point the association should realize there isn't more money to be extracted from the public without people pushing back.
