That was 24 years ago.  Are you talking about a former player or someone who coached under him because if you were coaching under him then you have your years in.  That was from 93 to 00.

Either or.  If you had a former player who played under Doug Merchant and is qualified to apply, it wouldn't hurt at all.

Most at Hattiesburg probably don't even remember who Coach Merchant is. I am positive Hattiesburg has changed drastically since he was there and sure like other posters said many under him have retired or close to it. By now those worth a grain of slat have established their own Legacy.

I remember Merchant very well. In fact I go all the way back to the Willie Coats days. After being pretty irrelevant throughout the entire 1970s until the mid 80s, Coats was the one that got the HHS program back on track.

Coats and Merchant were great coaches during their time I agree, I am just saying that the majority of the kids probably all don't know who those two are and most of their parents probably don't either.

John Feaster. Current HFC at Pearl River Central. Was competitive at Stone for a long well. Well regarded man and coach.

Thanks. I thought that's who they meant but misspelled it. Not a good look in my opinion to leave that quickly but today's culture is not about commitment so I understand.

This move wouldn't make sense at all, but I guess we will all find out.  If that's who they get, then I guess they got who they wanted.  Just doesn't make sense since this would be his 4th different head coaching gig in 4 years.

Agree with you sir. Not a fan of a resumé with constant changes.
