hopefully sumrall will take applications instead of hiring within but with the administration they have in place it probably won’t happen people of sumrall don’t have any say so usually the school just wants their money sumrall could reach high marks if they could get some good aggressive coaches that teach the fundamentals a lot of good athletes are being wasted

they have athletes in other sports besides baseball a lot of kids have left sumrall to play under a different coaching staff all i would like to see sumrall do is open applications up and see who would apply in all sports select few in administration usually pick who we get have anyone seen where they have open it to public to apply i bet i can tell you who will be the next coach

This isn't a job to draw the attention of any established successful head guys.  Are there any coordinators that would be good hires?  I think that is the only way to get someone not wanting to just coast until retirement.

Yes and won a state championship in his first season in 1998.

I don’t see Mancuso fitting in at Sumrall. I think Mancuso retires and then goes to coach at a private school somewhere. Or maybe he just retires from coaching period.

They pay more than Seminary?

well my understanding is a coach from outside the district no need to apply because they have to start job after 1st of year anybody under contract with a different district can’t get out of their contract just another way of good old boys giving job to who they want instead of getting best candidate. oh they will say they open applications up

Usually for a HC job a district will let you out of your contract.

if your a head coach from a different district that district not gonna let you out of contract most of the time sumrall has pulled this stunt before in other sports i just want the kids at sumrall to have the best coaches they can our tax money pays well for good coaches it’s a shame what they have done time and time again

School districts will allow head coaches out of contracts for another head coaching position.

i know of four coaches that their district would not let them out of their contract not saying all district wouldn’t it just has been a ploy to use at sumrall sumrall gets leftovers from the county

I know of several over the years where the school would not let them out of contract.  cocky admins will do almost anything to cause a person problems.

first you have to have a administration that wants to work with the community instead of just a select few everybody thinks sumrall is just a baseball town baseball is fairly new at sumrall sumrall has the athletes to compete in every sport both girls and boys

the admin and community sure seem to back baseball. surely they can buy in and do the same for all sports.  what gives?
