He's a good coach.  There have been a good many guys who have "retired" in one spot & been successful other places.  A few that come to mind:   Ricky Woods, Lance Pogue, Marcus Boyles, Todd Mangum, Jamie Mitchell, Ricky Black, Jimmie Moore, Todd Breland, Buddy Singleton, and Larry Dolan, just to name a few.  

 

I personally think he will do a good job, but I do know the GC community is not too keen on "outsiders".  He will need to win early to gain the support of that community.

I am referring specifically to retirees from another state. Probably should have mentioned that. The jury is out on Collier in my opinion. His last 2-3 years at Theodore inflated his record a lot. George County lost a good bit from this season as well. I think Mobile County buddy politics played a bigger role in this hire than anything else.

Most of these guys you listed are legendary coaches that have won several state titles… does he fit in this comparison?
