s1nglewing
George County has their Head Coach. Biloxi’s Defensive Coordinator Coach Eric Collier is now George County’s Head Coach. Rebels 21st head coach, replacing Coach Ray who is not the athletic director at George County. #BreakingNews #CoastFootball AL.com

I have never been a big fan of these type of hires. By the time these guys come here, the fire is either gone or on the verge. Very rarely do you see them translate that into the type of success they came from.
Prince of Darkness
He's a good coach. There have been a good many guys who have "retired" in one spot & been successful other places. A few that come to mind: Ricky Woods, Lance Pogue, Marcus Boyles, Todd Mangum, Jamie Mitchell, Ricky Black, Jimmie Moore, Todd Breland, Buddy Singleton, and Larry Dolan, just to name a few. I personally think he will do a good job, but I do know the GC community is not too keen on "outsiders". He will need to win early to gain the support of that community. I am referring specifically to retirees from another state. Probably should have mentioned that. The jury is out on Collier in my opinion. His last 2-3 years at Theodore inflated his record a lot. George County lost a good bit from this season as well. I think Mobile County buddy politics played a bigger role in this hire than anything else. Most of these guys you listed are legendary coaches that have won several state titles… does he fit in this comparison?

Southern Charm
I have seen that the George County head football coach position is open again? What's the word at Lucedale, as this seems like it would be a pretty good job?

Gulfcoastdevil75
My 2 cents… GC most likely knows what direction they are going in and knew when the coach backed out. This should or could be a quick hire.
