All they have to do is change the east to west and they will be mostly correct there since West Jones used to be called Northwest Jones.

The shut out against EC is surprising unless they just weren't that good. But it seems they are a little bit better than Gautier defensively.

Well yes they definitely are better than Gautier defensively and probably Laurel for that matter.  It's going to come down to who wants it more and  I believe we can win this game if we can control time of possession and limit the number of drives that West Jones has.  Our defense has been stellar so I think they will continue that dominance tonight.  We'll just need a few stops and some takeaways won't hurt either.

If WJ can repeat the performance from last week against EC, this should be a really good game.

I've seen them all year, but the last 2 games, WC and EC, have been different. They are playing as a team now, for each other.

The false starts and defensive offsides penalties are gone. i think all the adversity they have faced this year, with injuries, bad 

performances, (see Laurel),.etc.. has brought them together. Beating the #1 team in 5A at their house will be very hard, but

win or lose, I just want to see the team I saw for the last 2 weeks.

WJ play calling wasn’t good enough. Abandoned run after fumble before halftime. If they killed clock in 3rd and early 4th the last 2-3 turnovers probably don’t happen.  
 

college level coaches and coordinators get fired for collapse like this.

Watched a doubleheader. OG-OS and Picayune-WJ. that double pass blew up in WJ face. They had all the momentum after the Tide int and gave it right back.

Oh I’m pissed.  Our OC needs to go. He screwed the play calling since the fumble before the half.  I know west coaches felt they needed to have 21 by the 4th to stand a chance.  They were trying to have our less than average qb try to do his best impersonation of that Gautier qb.  Ignoring the fact we have averaged throwing 3 interceptions a game since 2019 (not an exaggeration. I have harped on this every year).  And it bit us in the ass hard with that truck play near end of 3rd trying to have our 8th grade wr throw to our qb and you guys picked it off.  The team folded after that.  Another interpection, fumble then yet another int in the 4th.  Unacceptable.

I thought they should have run the clock but do understand WJ going for the knockout late. If they score the coaches are geniuses but if you don't you take the heat.

Yes the turnovers ended up biting West Jones in the butt, but man we needed a test like that.  I still think y’all played one heck of a ballgame and I know you are not happy with the outcome, not necessarily because of the final score but because of how things kind of unraveled there in the end.  Have a safe trip back home Merlin.  We’ll have our hands full again next week for sure.
