  1. Picayune has them wore down. Coaching staff had these boys ready to play.
  2. Picayune came out doing some different things defensively and it has made a difference overall in this game. Offense is executing and keeping Gautier off the field. Excellent coaching job by Picayune staff so far
  3. Picayune better stop going man. Dillon Alfred is going to torch them all night if they keep going man. Too easy of a pitch and catch in that situation for Gautier.
  4. If Picayune stays away from costly turnovers, I think they win it. Defensively, they better make some sort of adjustments. You cannot play Gautier the same way you did two weeks ago. Truly a toss up game.
  5. We have been getting our popcorn ready for a while.
  6. I was not intending my post as a means of trying to defend Sims. I was simply stating a possible reason as to WHY administration in the district has allowed him to stay like he has. You have made your gripes several times before and I understand them. I am simply offering up alternative perspective. My friend in "Goula shares a similar opinion that you do. Sims is a great human being and did a lot for the program and bringing it up, but it is time to make a change and continue that growth. So I get where you are coming from. Trust me, we get it. You would be fine if every single member on that staff be sent out to pasture with Lewis Sims. LOL. It sounds like brighter days may be coming with his departure in the near future.
  7. I see your point, however, it is hard to get rid of him when just two years ago, he won a region title and was very close to playing for a state championship again (I know you have went through the various factors of how that run happened, but it happened). Now the last two years they played in 6A coast region and lost quite a few contests that could have went either way. I understand your frustration however. What assistant or assistants has he been overly loyal to? I know you have mentioned the DC before.
  8. I would say there is a 0% chance of that happening. The restraints I have been told all coaches in the Pascagoula-Gautier School District face, coupled with the coaching supplements and program freedom that the Jackson County School District coaches receive, it would be foolish of Fant to leave. Longer commute, less pay, more red tape to deal with. I do not see any scenario in which he would take that job. I have been told by some 'Goula folks I know that Sims has 2 years until his twenty-five are in and he is going to retire. The person who told me this is connected to the program fairly well and has a son currently on the team, so I trust his word. I expect Pascagoula to be really competitive the next few years with the talent they have coming back and the new 6A classification so Sims will get to ride off into the sunset on positive terms I believe. Fant I think has found a sweet spot at Vancleave. Expectations are never going to be super high. Most years, fans are okay with being competitive and making the playoffs. Win a playoff game here or there or have a year or two where they make a good run, Fant could be the Seth Smith of Vancleave. Although I will say the new region 4-5A is going to be an absolute gauntlet, a lot of the love Fant has been getting may come crashing down when he is having to play Laurel, Wayne County, Stone, Gautier and East Central instead of what he has the last two seasons.
  9. I saw that today too. I was told he was invited for combine and then his post on Twitter was taken down so I assumed it was correct. Good for him though. He definitely deserves it
  10. Can we block accounts from posting based on their IP address? LOL
  11. This topic just needs to go ahead be locked. There is no productivity coming from it.
  12. Not having a great RB like David Humphries is going to be tough this week. Hubbard's passing is being done at a much lower clip than last year. I still like Ocean Springs in this one, but I would not be shocked in the least to see Oak Grove go into Ocean Springs and win it. I also think OS being so dominant in their region may hurt them as well. It is not directly their fault, but they have not really had to play 4 quarters at all this year outside of MAYBE Clinton early in the season. This will definitely be their biggest dog fight of the season.
  13. The region 4 prediction is not one to boast about. LOL.
  14. PRC and Pascagoula in 2012 South State Playoffs and I believe 2011 was Picayune and PRC for south state.
  15. Wayne county lost to PRC I believe twice as a 1 seed. Could be wrong on that. I know Brookhaven was a 4 seed and beat Pascagoula back in 2012 or 2013.
  16. I agree. Vancleave has minimal chance of slowing down Gautier enough and I don’t see West Jones stopping picayune.
  17. That is surprising for sure! Was not expecting this at all
  18. Oh I agree with that whole heartedly. Howard is a very talented player in his own right, but I do believe the two best in the state are Hubbard and Irving. Howard was chosen because his HFC is the HFC for team Mississippi.
  19. Just wanted to return to this post and clarify that this actually was not correct. He was invited to the combine. He was not selected for this game.
  20. If Ocean Springs does not make it to State this season, I do not know when they will again. This is bar none their best team ever. Offense, Defense, Special Teams they are better than they have ever been. If they cannot get it done this year, I do not see them having a chance to do it for some time.
  21. Even then, I do not know if I could call it an upset. LOL
