  1. Who is taking over the reigns for Palazzo at QB?
  2. Pennock to my knowledge did not teach any classes but held the role of "Assistant Athletic Director". If this is true, then OS is foolish for thinking any high quality coach was going to come in and take the job. I agree with your point though. Mississippi is hurting itself with they way coaches are run and expected to teach full class loads with the demands of running a program in today's world. I personally feel that no head football, baseball or basketball coach should teach a class. They should be focused on running their programs, game planning, fundraising, etc.
  3. Sometimes you need to take the greyhound shades off David. LOL. Ocean Springs is far from a premier program in this state. 2 year run has been nice. But in my opinion, not a big enough sample size to be proclaimed premiere at this point and time.
  4. I heard it was between Bramlett and DuBose and that community and school pressure to hire Bramlett was through the roof and they expected them to hire him. That was what I was told over the weekend. Of course in situations like this, most everybody "knows" something. LOL.
  5. Word I am getting is that announcement will come this week and that it is Bramlett.
  6. I think it comes down to being able to get coaches in. Many districts have already done letters of intent on who is coming back or not. Finding coaches to fill teaching vacancies can become a problem the later a school waits to make a move.
  7. I probably should stop being shocked. After the Pennock to Gulfport situation. Anything is plausible at this point. LOL
  8. They may have offered it and both turned down? Not sure. Causey has a really full cupboard of talent coming back so I would shocked if he left having 7-8 D1 guys with experience back on his team.
  9. At this point, if it is not Bramlett, then they are wasting a lot of time and energy. Something is off about this situation. I understand doing your due diligence, but there is no excuse for a hire to not be made at this point in time.
  10. Not surprising. A change was needed. If I was PRC, I would be giving Seth Hayden a call at Picayune. I think he would be a great hire for them. PRC alum, coached there, moved on and has had success at Picayune.
  11. I saw an assistant coach from Moss Point made a post about it the other day and it was being shared on social media but then I saw he took it down so I am wondering if the "breaking news" was premature and nothing had officially been announced. I know the Coast Football facebook and twitter page reported it, but it has not been reported by any reputable (I do not intend that as a shot at Coast Football either because what they do is awesome) news source.
  12. Is this still for sure? I have not seen any news coverage of this and Feaster has not confirmed anything despite several posts on social media in the last week.
  13. Biggest problem is going to be $$$. Stone does not pay well. Word is Feaster was making about 60k as head football coach. Was told he got a "substantial" raise with going to Moss Point. Anyone interested in that job will have to be passionate about just having the opportunity to be a head coach.
  14. Personally I did not view them as a good ball club. Region 3 was average overall top to bottom in my opinion (which is evident by West Jones being the only playoff winner thrashing East Central). West Jones was probably the best overall team in the region. Vancleave was a tough matchup for Hattiesburg no doubt, but I was not impressed by them even with Hattiesburg being 7-0 in region play.
  15. Gautier is replacing roughly 90% of its offensive production. QB, both of their leading rushers, leading WR and the entire offensive line. Along with 5-6 starters on defense. Vancleave loses their RB, along with their best OL and another starter. They lost their two best defensive players along with some other starters. East Central lost a ton off of their defense as well as their best offense playmakers. Stone does return their QB, but lost a good amount of his playmakers around him. Vancleave nor East Central impressed me last season. Teams that were actually good ball clubs beat them by 3+ scores. A lot of fools gold with them in my opinion.
  16. I keep seeing this narrative about how tough this region is going to be and I just cannot buy the hype. Maybe I am a little biased because I have seen these coast teams play and know what is coming back but you guys are on here painting it out like it is the SEC or something lol.
  17. If we are being objective he did not really elevate Stone much aside from this season. He is 39-34 in 7 seasons (30-31 going into this season). 4-7 in the playoffs (3 of those wins coming this year). He is a solid coach but it was not like he turned Stone into a upper tier program. 3 losing seasons over the last 5. He is also walking into a VASTLY different situation than what he inherited at Stone. This 1st season is going to challenge him immensely. I hope it plays out well for him, but I do not see this lasting long term without major overhaul of the city and school district. The biggest thing helping him will be playing in a weak 4A division outside of Poplarville.
  18. Moss Point has been beating their chest about that for the last 3-4 years and get bounced in the first or second round every time. Great hire. However, the cupboard is bare and there is not a whole lot of quality returning.
  19. There are some high quality individuals. The problem a lot of the shot callers are not high quality. I do think Dr. Oswego Harper is doing a fine job taking over as superintendent after the last one was put on leave by the school board and not a peep has been mentioned since. So it makes you wonder what really is going on.
  20. I will never say never because you are right. It could be a huge turn around situation. However, based on the current climate it is going to be an uphill battle unlike any he has seen. The town is shrinking, the talent pool is all put a puddle at this point. Getting families to want to move there will be next to impossible. John Feaster is a great guy and I think he is the right man for the job. I just think it may be the "right person, wrong time" sort of situation. Going to be rooting for him!
  21. If true, good hire for Moss Point, but unless he is bringing some players with him I do not think he is going to see a ton of success. They are also most likely dropping to 3A next count which does not bode well for them either. Hard to imagine leaving what Stone has going but when I was told Gulfport was going all in for Pennock, I laughed because I thought no chance. Yet, he is now at Gulfport. I like Feaster. He was teammates at Pearl River with my little brother. Always a good guy.
  22. I also saw where Pascagoula assistant coach Tim Lala was named HFC at Saint Stanislaus. He was the defensive coordinator there a few years ago.
  23. Not surprising. He has a good thing going at Stone and I believe they will be tough in their region. I think they would have beaten both Vancleave and East Central this past season. I have not heard anything about the money not being their to build the stadium on campus at the new school. I was told the bond money and all was there to make it happen. We will see though. Moss Point is a tough gig. I have heard there were some veteran coaches who are in the twilight of their careers putting in for it, but no big names of substance. Did hear Tracy Lampley from Ocean Springs put in for it. Not sure how true all that may be though.
