An interesting idea I have heard is to let the host site be determined by who is Home/Away that year. So if the South is home team that year, play it at USM. If North is home, rotate between Mississippi State and Ole Miss. Every other year would be at USM (which a lot of people like) and then every other year it bounces between two really great SEC stadiums.

I just hate the committee aspect now. The human element and making things about money ruin it. I wish they could mesh the BCS model with CFP. Let the algorithm determine the 12 best teams based on a certain criteria and then whoever is ranked 1-12 is in.

Well I read somewhere that it is a Gulf Coast crew calling this game and if so, it makes total sense. Gulf Coast officials were absolutely horrendous this year in my opinion. Every crew was horrible.

Not to take anything away from Reynolds and his staff, but if you gave Pierson this team in year one the results are probably the same. You’re talking about and all time great defense in state history in an era where offensive football usually dominates.

You are definitely right, Dub. I just liked it being central for everyone to travel. I do not mind the rotating thing because honestly, it is more about/for the kids and while some of us may not like it, the kids I am sure truly enjoy playing in the Big 3 stadiums.

About like Hattiesburg, huh? Heck, you guys cannot even win a playoff game IN Hattiesburg. LOL. For Picayune it is roughly 3 hours and 45 mintues to Oxford and almost 5 hours to Oxford. Conversely, for a team like Biggersville, it would be over 5 hours to Hattiesburg for them. In my opinion, the games need to get back to the Jackson area. I do like Hattiesburg more than the others, but I feel for travel and all, it is best to play it somewhere in the Jackson area.

South Teams having to continually travel north 2 out of the 3 years is ideal though?

I have heard a recently retired football coach from coastal Alabama with a few state championships to his name has applied for Biloxi job. Stockstill I was told was contacted by Biloxi very early in the process about his interest. Was also told a few local coast Head Coaches put in for the job as well.

Seeing Blake Baker's name pop up in discussion for Defensive Coordinator. He would be a good one in my opinion.

I have always like Lance Guidry who is at Miami. Tulane got him for about a week last year before Miami came and got him. Not sure if it would be possible, but he is a Louisiana boy. His defenses are typically solid.

Having the ability to be able to spread out and throw it some would only make a team like Picayune that much more dangerous.

Winning cures everything. Just because they do not like the hire now (I am one of those), does not mean they will not jump on board and support if he starts winning (I will… LOL).

I was a kid when that team came and beat Gulfport 14-0 I believe it was. They were extremely talented. Crazy to only give up 34 points all season and still have a loss on the record for that year. One of the all time great defenses for sure

I could be completely wrong, but I have a bad feeling about this if Lebby gets it. I just do not see him as the best candidate for the job unless 4-5 other people said no thanks. I have a feeling State will be hiring another coach in 3-4 years and it will not be because he was super successful
