I saw a lot of drama raised about this on social media last night and from what I gathered, he will not be compensated until after he exhausts his eligibility in December. MHSAA rules still state high school players cannot receive NIL. Was told this move allows him to still get his NIL AND be eligible to play football this fall.

Regular Season won-loss predictions 5a-7a South
coastfootballfanman replied to Vott's topic in Football
If you are going to end the season, might as well do it early. LOL. I expect Hattiesburg to make a deep run in the playoffs with the talent they are bringing back. If Vance wants to get it done, this year is the year to do it. -
USM is the best venue by a mile in my opinion and should be where it is held yearly in my opinion. It is a great thing for those kids to play in the SEC stadiums but after this year, the rain ruined the field after 7 games it was a mess. Southern has turf, plenty of dining and hotel options. It just checks a lot of boxes.

Might be the best team (on paper) Vance has ever had. If they do not make some serious noise this year, I am not sure if they ever will.

I think having some form of a spread package would pay dividends for picayune greatly. Especially if it was something you could incorporate into a “tempo” look. Lining up wing-T and running power toss then getting on the ball and go 4 wide running read option then lining back up in wing-T. That would be tough to defend and prepare for.

Will not speak on it historically because I do not know. But I know Hattiesburg just netted Barnett from Harrison Central.

Head Baseball Coach Julius Bridges is given interim tag for the season. I do not see this being the full time solution. Obviously tough situation to find someone as late as they had to. I imagine it will open up in November/December. Tough road ahead for the tigers. Population still tends to be trending down. Apparently they may be 3A next count.

He is a PRC alum. Obviously he would be going back home

Where does Moss Point go from here? Will be tough to find someone this late and from what I hear, there is not anyone on staff currently that has the chops to take over.

Pearl River Central Head Football Coach

It is official. Feaster will be HFC/AD. I imagine he will be brining his OC with him as well who is a PRC alum. Feaster will also be bringing his son with him who is a pretty good player from what I am told. Big loss for Moss Point. They continue on a downward spiral. Huge deal for PRC. They have a great motivator at the helm. Hopefully they can start to improve and really compete. -

Matt stats all but reported it is Feaster on Facebook this evening. Curious to see how it plays out. He usually is pretty reliable so it seems there is real smoke to it. -

That was exactly the thought process behind my comment. It is a tough job and one that will be hard to draw a hot topic name, but getting a guy like Feaster would be as close to home run as you could get in their situation. -

If he wants it, I would hope they would give it to him. Be hard to find a coach with his pedigree AND actually WANT that job. -

How about you just tell us who it is! LOL -

Those are valid points and from what I heard, MP has lost its starting quarterback from last year and a starting lineman to transfer. Talent pool is drying up from what I hear. May be a better situation for him. -

Surely he would not leave Moss Point for Carriere? -
I am just busting your chops! It would not surprise me if Bilderback was play caller as he is regarded as a top defensive mind. I will say I have heard nothing but great things about Russum
-
Similarly to how you knew for a fact Lane Brady was getting the Harrison Central job?

Honestly, probably not. -

I do not know Brady very much outside of his tenure with Long Beach, which was a disaster. I have heard mixed reviews on him overall. Maybe he will get an opportunity soon. Although, PRC is a job I do not know if I would pursue as my first time HFC job. -

LOL. This is starting to turn into a Teddy Dyess situation where his name is brought up for every job. -
I agree with this to an extent. Part of me believes though, that with him waiting until now to do this, maybe it was strategic so that they give it to one of the current staff members with the timing? This just does not seems like a situation that has popped up in the last month or anything.

Consolidation is long over due in a lot of areas in our state. Districts/Communities can save themselves a lot of money by consolidating. I would love to see mass consolidation in small communities and our state go back down to 5 classes or even if numbers are there, go to 4. I know I am probably in the minority in this thinking though.

if Rashada does come to Starkville, does that signal Parson hitting the portal?
-
I think they return a decent amount of talent. Defensively I believe they were somewhat young last year. d'Iberville is not getting the transfers in like they used to and I think the community talent pool is not as deep as it was 10-15 years ago. They should be more improved and I expect them to be fighting for a playoff spot.
