I can respect that opinion because I do think Biggersville and Baldwyn will be two of the top teams in the north if not the top two, but I gotta disagree with your region 2 being awful take when the delta teams in that region have been far from awful. Yes McEvans will be down a little this year compared to last but Simmons brings back a good bit(just as much as Smithville who they beat 54-0 last year) and South Delta who brings back a lot and will be one of the best teams in the north.
-
So don’t think highly of Biggersville? I’ve got them as the favorite with South Delta being the surprise team.
-
I think it’s a two horse race between Charleston and Union. They both bring back a lot from last year.
-
Almost as dumb as when 1A had the delta teams in the south couple years ago.
-
I’m not one to derail a thread but in this case it is what it is because the OP is just doing what he does. I’m going to talk 3A North. I wish realignment would’ve came 1 year later because the north is missing out on a what could’ve been moment. JMO but the north would’ve had the top three teams with Winona, Amory and Noxubee County and would’ve been more exciting than it was last year which produced one of the best games I’ve seen in Amory/Noxubee County. I still to this day think Amory was the best team in the north last year and better than Noxubee County, but Teddy Young outcoached Brooks Dampeer in the 2nd half of that game. Amory controlled the game in the 1st half but halftime adjustments, Dampeer being conservative and Young pulling every trick out of the bag won that game for Noxubee County. Now with the recent realignment, I sit here wondering how in the world is Noxubee County considered to be in the south that keeps from seeing a Winona/Noxubee County game this year even though I still think I will at the end of the year?

We’re in a day and age where games are able to be scene all over the place so you can’t just say things in hopes ppl believe it. Sims is the only guy on Enterprise with speed.
-
Sims is the only guy on the Enterprise team with speed and he wants to criticize another team about lack of speed. That’s extra dark chocolate rich. You know who has speed and athletes though? The 3A South favorite Noxubee County. Can’t wait for the excuses after that one.
-
1994 runner up. I had to google it. You think the guy would be humbled after calling y’all bad last year and Mize was gonna get taken to the woodshed. Then it wind up being a 7-6 final but then again he is who he is and hasn’t changed in 10+ years on here.
-
I’ll give it to the guy. He keeps the Enterprise name going that you’d almost forget that it’s been 30 years since their last state championship appearance.
-
I think Matthew Perkins will be D1 caliber next year. Had a great sophomore season last year and probably be one of their main contributors on both sides of the ball this year. Dub, I don’t see this being near as competitive as the GCS game was. That year GCS was like a 6A public school championship contender where as MRA this year is more like a 4A public school championship contender. They lost a lot on defense to graduation that they’ll have to find replacements for as well as their go to receiver. If I were to put a line on it I’d take Oak Grove -21.
-
6A. The WR is also the #1 WR in the country, the QB is #3 and will more than likely be a 5 star cuz he’s just on the verge of it right now. They also have a DL that’s a 4 star who is top 20 at his position in the country.
-
Gautier as maroontide mentioned. He’s going to a Saraland team that already has the #1 five star WR in the state of Alabama who is also the #1 recruit in the state committed to Bama in the class of 2025 to go along with the #1 QB in the state committed to Texas for class of 2025.
-
Any kind of change now that Dillon Alfred transferred to Saraland?
-
Yea I stand corrected. That’s gotta be the toughest nondistrict schedule in 3A.
-
As you should because Winona is loaded like you said. He does this every year where he says what Enterprise will do against the favorite to win it all in a game that never even happens. Last year it was Raleigh. As for a game that will happen, my eyes and the rest of 3A’s should be too, will be on the week 2 matchup when Winona host Grenada. If Winona is competitive in that game or somehow wins then that’ll put the rest of 3A on notice.
-
Agreed. We will get a early chance to see just how dominant Winona will be or if they’ll be challenged in the north Sept. 15 when they travel to Ackerman to take on Choctaw County in non district action. They will be battle tested by time district play starts with arguably the hardest nondistrict schedule in 3A that consist of a ranked 6A Grenada, gritty teams like Kosciusko, Senatobia and Charleston plus Choctaw County that I mentioned.

If wanted to switch it from north/south locations and the SEC schools didn’t wanna be involved, could always play it at DSU in Cleveland. Got plenty places for out of towners to stay, good local eats and turf field. They’ve been able to hold multiple little league and Dixie youth regional championships that involved up to 8 states without problems. Negative is it’s the delta so you shoooooo gonna have long desolate drive with vast span of nothing.
-
If only JSU would get that dome that was mentioned on here 10 years ago.
-
I know we’re talking about Mancuso here but don’t underestimate Teddy Young cuz the guy can coach as well. His adjustments are what won them the playoff game against Amory last year in a rematch that they lost earlier in the season.
-
I’ll probably get crucified for this but if you want to beat 2A North delta teams all you have to do is have a balanced offense. If someone gets offended all they have to do is look back at the Eupora/North Side and Choctaw County/Leflore County playoff games from last year. Delta teams struggle against teams that can pass and have mobile QB’s. Charleston is usually the exception.
-
Spot on. They have a terrific supportive fan base of good people and I pull for Coach Jimmerson because he’s a loyal coach that’s gotten a lot out of the teams he’s coached while at Enterprise.
-
Noxubee County, Kemper County, McLaurin and SE Lauderdale so def should finish 3-1 at worst.
-
Ironically he said this nugget about Raleigh last year for having a roster of 35 soooooooooo. I’m sure roster size doesn’t mean a thing this year though.
-
Choctaw County could be a sleeper and will get to see them early in the season in a non district match against Winona. East Webster brings back a lot and could be a sleeper as well but gotta see how they do with the jump from 2A to 3A in year 1.
-
To add on to that, chunky is one of the most up front guys there is when he’s discussing Mize so that was ridiculous to say about him. He never makes them out to be something they’re not.
