It’s definitely going to be a good one and I’ll be watching it too but that’s my main point. A good 4A MAIS and good 1A MHSAA game should be good because they’re close in enrollment. Same as last years MRA/Raleigh game was because they’re close to same in enrollment. With the 5A is 5A comment I’ll use two delta schools who are in the same city as an example. Cleveland Central is MHSAA 5A and Bayou Academy is MAIS 5A. There’s a reason why Cleveland Central’s graduation is held at Walter Sillers Coliseum and Bayou’s either in their gym or football field.

And what he fails to realize is when he looks at that MAIS/MHSAA records against each other most of the MAIS wins are going to be from large classification MAIS teams against lower classification MHSAA teams which makes sense since 5A-6A MAIS schools would be in 2A-3A MHSAA. Nowhere in there will be wins against 5A-7A MHSAA teams which this whole argument started from by saying Lamar could compete with Picayune. Not only will he get a better understanding when Oak Grove plays MRA soon but will also when MHSAA 1A #1 Taylorsville plays MAIS 4A #1 Tri-County in couple weeks.

Didn’t y’all lose to a bad 2A Newton team during one of y’all championship years?
-
Prob should’ve scheduled Oak Grove/Oxford who played for 6A championship that year instead of an average 4A Corinth team then. However using a team that blew out the rest of their MAIS competition that year to compare MAIS/MHSAA is like a Vandy fan piggy backing on Georgia and Bama.

@maroontide06it took one of if not the best MAIS team ever in GCS to actually have a competitive game with a 6A school when they played Oak Grove couple years ago. That GCS team was stacked with some of the best Washington County and Leflore County public school kids at the time. That same team breezed through the MAIS schedule that consisted of some of the top 6A schools in MAIS. That right there should’ve indicated to him the difference in play.

Feel free to show me a 5A public school that has the same enrollment size as Lamar’s high school. I’ll wait.

And CalPreps agrees
-
Lol no it wouldn’t. Picayune would win that game by at least 35. You do know that 5A MAIS is basically the equivalent of a 3A public school don’t you?

My opinion is it’s actually kind of hard to tell based off how Madison Central played last week. I know that doesn’t help much haha. If I recall they had about 5 or 6 turnovers and a lot of penalties. If they play that sloppy against Brandon they could find themselves in a hole they can’t dig out of. If they clean those mistakes up it could be one heck of a ballgame.

I’ll take Vardaman in a close one too, but had a friend from Bruce tell me Coach Darbonne in his first year has them looking a lot better than they have recently.
-
If Oxford starts out like they did against Lafayette, South Panola could build a sizable early lead that Oxford will have to comeback from. I only watched the first half of that game though and it looked like they found their way in second half.
-
If you have to ask this question then why did you get on here making a prediction like you knew anything about them?
-
Well for starters the 5A team that beat them Starkville Academy and then ACCS which is looking like the best team in 5A at the moment. I’m done with it on this thread though because it doesn’t involve what’s suppose to be discussed.
-
Lamar Academy’s final record even though the season still isn’t over and they still aren’t the best MAIS 5A team that he claims them to be.
-
What about them? I actually admitted I was wrong. Unlike you saying Brandon took Picayune lightly instead of saying you were wrong like you said you would.
-
Picayune was a preaseason top five team coming off two straight championships and has two dandy dozens. I seriously doubt Brandon took them lightly in a game that the entire state knew was going to be one of the biggest games of the year. Picayune is just really good.

Just got done watching these. Kid has a great future if stays healthy. https://www.facebook.com/groups/295864167882495/permalink/1498800814255485/?mibextid=S66gvF

If the Freshman RB is #6 y’all got a star in the making chunky.

Suffering from rhabdomylosis and just recently got out of the hospital. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
-
There’s no reason for him to. I watched their game against Lake. With Sims they might be a top ten team but without him they’re nowhere near one. It is what it is. I’m going off the team they currently put on the field.
-
It’ll be tough that’s for sure, but I think it’s doable. Offensively have some playmakers at WR, a QB that can fling it and a good RB. Defensively though their line is big but looks slow. Their secondary is a weakness. Auburn killed the D on short passes and screens.
