I’m not a South Panola fan but I sure loved watching them beat Colquitt County GA on ESPN in 2010. Loved watching Oak Grove beat Hoover and always enjoy seeing a MS school beat West Monroe. I’ve enjoyed the OOS games Tupelo has had with TN schools the last couple of years. They seemed to have developed a nice rivalry with Houston TN that I hope continues. Every year when ESPN does their high school games to start off the season I hope we’d get a MS vs OOS game because it gives people around the country a chance to see how MS high school football is. One game I mentioned to some of my LA friends that I would’ve loved to see this year was Hattiesburg vs Edna Karr LA. Hattiesburg to Nola is just hour and 45 mins away. That game would’ve been electric with two 10-0 teams.

A game I’m intrigued about is a solid 10-1 East Webster team traveling to Belzoni to take on an undefeated Humphreys County team that no one has talked about all year. I like East Webster in this one but anything is possible during playoff time. This one reminds me a lot of last year’s Choctaw County/Amanda Elzy game.

I’m going with Prep 35-14 and MRA 45-36. Hartfield can’t dig themselves into a hole like they did in the first game.

If Kemper starts slow this one could get away from them early. If they come out mistake free this should be a good one. Give me Magee 35-28.

You’d almost think it was the offseason and not playoff time with the lack of game posts this week. Not a single so and so vs so and so. Tonight we have no loss teams battling one loss teams. One being a Kemper County/Magee game that could be a classic. We’ve got a reigning 3A champ taking on one of the favorites to win it this year Choctaw County. Noxubee County taking on JDC. Best QB in the state taking on West Jones. Couple ranked matchups in the higher classes. Some teams that had high hopes going into the season but struggled and now can turn it around when matters the most. We’ve got the semis in MAIS. A Prep/JA rivalry playoff game. A Hartfield/MRA rematch of a thriller earlier this year. This is what @Dubaction means when he says it’s just not the same around here.

Could #13 Boise St be on upset watch going on the road against 6-3 San Jose St? Feels like one of those tricky games. One I’m questioning is how in the world is #6 BYU only a -2.5 favorite at home against 3-6 Kansas? Tells me a lot about what Vegas really thinks of BYU and their #6 ranking.

Michigan is offering Bryce Underwood 10.5M over a 4 year period to flip his commitment from LSU. Pure craziness.

4 star IOL Devin Harper is about to flip from LSU too. Some predicting Deuce Knight to flip but I don’t see that happening with us having Simmons. Amazing what happens when you get a signature win.

You bring up Georgia at 10-2 if they beat Tennessee will leave out Ole Miss but fell to realize that what happens if Texas and Bama play in the SECG. Bama lose, they will have 3 losses and are gonna get left out. They currently sit at #10. It would be an elimination game for them just as it would be for Ole Miss. Texas lose and have 2 losses, what’s their best win? Vandy? Can’t really fall back on beating Michigan now. Same goes for if a 10-2 Tennessee were to play Texas in the SECCG or a 10-2 Georgia/Texas rematch. If one of those lose to Texas they’re getting their 3rd loss and eliminated. If Texas loses they have nothing to fall back on especially with their SEC schedule. All Ole Miss has to do is win out and if they don’t play in the SECCG the chips will still fall where they need to if they do.

But there’s no issue with you if Indiana gets in at 11-1 with 0 top 25 wins and only one top 25 opponent? Look at that schedule. Every SEC team in running for a playoff spot would be the same. If they deserve in at 11-1 then so does Army if they finish 11-1. They’re a feel good story but their biggest thing so far is soundly beating Nebraska.

I wouldn’t say Penn St was fairly dominant when I watched them struggle at home against Bowling Green, battled it out with Illinois and lucked up in OT against USC. They’re lucky Riley choked and got away in the 2H with what had them winning in 1H. 0 TD’s against a competent Ohio St defense at home. Plus they’ve barely even left Happy Valley this year. Also can’t bring up Ole Miss’ OOC schedule without questioning theirs as well. December or whenever with Allar at QB and no running game works for me. Defense will just pin their ears back.
