If I had to answer right away I’d say Thomas is going to be the starter because for some reason Kiffin doesn’t wanna start Bentley. You know another head scratcher when it comes to the RB position? Why did we go out and pull Amos from the transfer portal to use in short yardage and goal line yet all we’ve used is Pegues instead? He hasn’t had a carry since the Georgia Southern game. Another question I have that I meant to ask last week during the Arkansas game. Why the heck is Ivey playing on the FG unit? Can we not find a guy to replace him to minimize possible injury? That’s when he got banged up in that game.
-
I was told that too but I find it strange that Kiffin acknowledged how good of a game he called against Arkansas if that’s true.

Been raining here in Oxford off and on the last two days but nothing heavy. Saturday it’s going to be 75 with 50% chance of rain. Doubt it’ll be anything bad.

No secret that the keys to the game for Ole Miss is the play of the OL and can the DL get enough pressure to cause Beck to rush throws. Beck has struggled lately when pressured and Ole Miss’ sack leading defensive front pressures more than anyone in the country. Something has to to give. Also can Charlie Weis Jr call the game of his life?
-
I think it was the UK game where Kiffin’s injury report during the week consisted of like 30 players. Just him trying to play chess not checkers. The only one that matters is the one 30 mins before game time. The only guys I know we’ll be missing are Parrish and more than likely Prieskorn.

One hasn’t been created yet and don’t care who else plays. This is the biggest game that’s ever happened in Oxford with humongous stakes. Can Ole Miss’ defense get enough pressure on Beck like Florida did last week to make this a ball game? It will all come down to that. My palms are sweaty and about to throw up mom’s spaghetti. Y’all can fill in the rest of the games.

As a moderator I make random threads or try to stear threads a better way but it’s hard these days.

Wasn’t going to get much playing time this year so he decided to redshirt and is no longer on the team now so I’m sure it’s just a matter of time when his name appears to have transferred to another school.

College Football Playoff Rankings
NoWammies replied to NoWammies's topic in Mississippi College Sports
I said prob be 16 this morning on X and about got crucified. I mentioned the Kentucky loss looking worse every week that’ll keep us from being in top 12 and everyone kept saying why wouldn’t the Northern Illinois loss do the same for Notre Dame. Pretty easy to answer when you see Notre Dame has wins over ranked teams A&M and Louisville. Currently there’s not a team ahead of Ole Miss that I’d say Ole Miss deserves to be ahead of. Realistically Ole Miss has played two good games this year. Rest of the games they’ve just looked average and they have zero wins over ranked opponents. Win out and everything will play out in our favor. -
Not writing a full article. Just posting a pic of it and we can discuss. Looks about right to me. I might’ve left Missouri out of it.

Women’s College Basketball Season
NoWammies replied to NoWammies's topic in Mississippi College Sports
I was surprised Purcell was unable to land HVL and she chose TCU instead. I figured she was a given to transfer there since they had a connection at Louisville. -
Another ranked upset last night was #19 Texas going down to Ohio St 80-72. Not a good start of basketball in the state of Texas. The one ranked matchup we had last night was #6 Gonzaga thumping #8 Baylor 101-63. If that’s any indication on the rest of the season then Gonzaga is a team to fear.

Was good to see Murray have a nice game scoring 24 on 70% shooting. Big problem Ole Miss had last year was Murray, Murrell and Brakefield never seemed to have good games together. Always seemed like when one did the other two would be off. Was sort of the issue last night. Brakefield and Murrell both scored double digits but shooting percentage was low. This year we’ve added Dia who could be another high scorer in the bunch. However he got in early foul trouble and only played 11 mins. Can’t afford him to be in foul trouble because he’s also a key contributor on the boards. I’m hoping he can be a consistent 15/8 average type of guy.

Crazy how Vegas can do things. Final line for the Ole Miss/LIU game was Ole Miss -29.5 with 149.5 O/U. Game ends -30 and 150. Pretty sure some degenerate gamblers were sweating the last couple secs somewhere. As for the game, not really much you can go off of. Will give LIU a lot of credit. They were a scrappy bunch with a guard Malachi Davis that could play for some big time programs. Ole Miss came out flat early on and struggled from the floor but liked the defensive intensity. Going to have to do a better job though crashing the boards once the competition gets tougher.

Figured I’d start a ladies thread so didn’t interfere with the guys. Ole Miss almost pulled off a near upset today in Paris against #3 USC and future #1 pick JuJu Watkins. Unfortunately ended up losing 68-66. Had a critical turnover with 20 secs left off an inbound pass that resulted in a 2 on 1 fast break for USC and a foul on Ole Miss. USC hit the two FT’s to take the 2 point lead with 9 secs left and Ole Miss was unable to hit the shot at the buzzer. USC hit 17 straight FT’s down the stretch that helped them out a lot. Feisty defensive effort for the Lady Rebs though as they caused 26 turnovers. Coach Yo’s groups have always been relentless on the defensive side of the ball and look like they’ll be the same this year.

1st ranked team to go down on the year is #13 A&M to UCF 64-61.
-
A team that was helped out a lot by the Iowa St and Kansas St losses is Colorado. They now sit tied at 2nd with Iowa St and has a favorable rest of the schedule. They very well could be playing BYU in Big 12 championship with a playoff spot on the line.
-
What’s happening early on to A&M is why I was glad Ole Miss played USC during the day and not at night. Not sure how this ends but right now it has that 2022 Tennessee/USC vibe where USC couldn’t do anything wrong and put a beat down on a #6 Tennessee team.

DJ Lagway going down for Florida is big for not just today but rest of the year if a serious injury. Without him I don’t see them being able to finish this upset chance of Georgia.
-
Possible upset in the making with Mich St up 10-0 on Indiana at the end of the 1Q. Not SEC but these are the kind of games Ole Miss needs to happen so more at large spots get a little bit closer to getting.

This is what I’ve been waiting on all year. Coming into the year even with Tre, I thought Jordan would be near a 1,000 yard receiver. This game puts him at just 550.

Glad the offense came alive because Dart and Prieskorn was being given hell on X because a pic surfaced of them two taking Caden’s kids out trick or treating Thursday night. Folks saying this team not taking the season serious.
-
Since 2nd half of last week, Dart is using the short 5/10 yarders to the TE instead of forcing the deep pass and today it’s opened up 2 bombs to Watkins. Plus doing this without Harris. This is also the Watkins I’ve been waiting to see. Still a whole half left to play. Need to step on their throats instead of be conservative. That’s defensively as well. Keep putting pressure on Green especially since he’s playing on a bad leg and not as mobile.

Army rockin’ some pretty amazing helmets today against Air Force.

Yea they won the region with that win. Holmes County and Canton will play for the #2 seed next Friday. Winner gets #2 and loser gets #3. Yazoo City locked up #4 seed with their win against Greenville last night.
