Well Bryce Underwood took the 10M Michigan offered him and flipped from LSU. Big loss for LSU.

I’m the words of George Costanza “Was that wrong? Should I have not done that? I tell you I gotta plead ignorance on this thing because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing was frowned upon, you know, cause I’ve worked in a lot of offices and I tell you people do that all the time.”

First injury report is out and seeing Logan Diggs as questionable instead of out is a beautiful thing to see. Now just gotta see how much rust he has.
-
Also good chance we land Jeheim Oatis from Bama who is currently the #1 transfer. Former Columbia Wildcat chose Bama over Ole Miss on signing day. Him and Harris next year would make for one huge run stuffing DL.
-
Keanu Koht. He was a 5 star edge out of high school and played limited time this year at LB. Hasn’t really lived up to his 5 star ranking. Right now he’s listed as the #4 transfer in the portal.

What’s wrong with trying to get with your head coach’s daughter? Golding and Sunseri were his main recruiters to Bama so good chance he ends up at Ole Miss.

I think Ole Miss is better than at least 6 of those teams ahead of them but they dropped the ball twice by not being consistent so it’s understandable where they’re at and with a loss to Kentucky I say very fortunate where they’re at. That loss scares me every Tuesday night when these things come out.

You know what else is weird about Oregon and the Big 10? They just realized today and announced that Oregon has advanced to the conference championship game. They didn’t know that this past Saturday? I also think Ohio St wins the rematch. They haven’t been the same explosive offensive team since their leading receiver Tez Johnson went down a couple games ago but he announced today he’s back. How he is in his return will tell a lot. He was key in the Ohio St game. I’m a little salty with Oregon with how much Heisman love Gabriel is getting when Dart has better numbers.

NorthSide is a sneaky team that not a lot of folks have talked about much in 2A. They should’ve opened some eyes in their OT loss to Charleston. Like Simmons another delta team their schedule comes into question whether they’re legit or not but just like Simmons they are. They can beat you multiple ways, have a good group of athletes with a couple future D1 guys. Jermarj Bell is one of the most underrated WR’s in the state that can also beat you in the return game. I got them advancing but I’m still pondering that Charleston/Calhoun City game. Both teams are so similar. Right now I’m giving the edge to Charleston.

Again now that that’s out of the way, back to the Oak Grove/OS thread. My apologies everyone.

None of the hot seat facts bother anyone. Possible coach firings get talked about all the time on here. You’ve never been moderated for it. It’s when you talk about court actions of an underaged high school kid that are against the rules is when you get moderated. I have no prob with it if you have no prob with me gathering your IP address when the parents come asking who you are to file a claim which could also get this site shutdown. Now back to the Oak Grove/OS thread.

Anybody see the “gold” jersey LSU is debuting for the first time this weekend against Vandy? I guess anything to get the kids back excited.

I don’t think the auto bids are going to last very long. Should be the best 4 getting the first round bye. Boise St currently getting a bye is absolutely ridiculous. I was trying to do some scenarios in my head for Ole Miss getting a home game if they were to win out. I kinda think if Bama were to win the SECCG and A&M were to beat Texas to get to the SECCG that should move Ole Miss into a home game. That’s also if Indiana were to lose to Ohio St and how far the committee drops them. Gotta beat Florida first though so I don’t wanna get ahead of myself. Still far from being over. Yea my apologies as well 83 for hijacking the thread. I should’ve put this in the weekly update thread.

https://www.misshsaa.com/2024/11/19/2025-27-football-regions/ Winona, Noxubee County and Choctaw County in the same region is going to make for one of the toughest 3 seeds in the playoffs.

Ole Miss at #9. They’ve got Ole Miss #10, Georgia #11 and Tennessee first team out in the bracket. That means all Ole Miss has to do is win out. Dear 8lb 6oz newborn baby Jesus please don’t let Ole Miss screw this up. As the days got closer I thought Georgia was going to jump us and I was more worried about would they have Tennessee ahead of us since we had a bye. As of now, Ole Miss is playing in the 7/10 matchup against Indiana with the winner taking on Texas. I’ll take that all day long. Question now becomes is how far will Indiana drop if they get blown out by Ohio St? Do they fall out with just 1 loss but no ranked wins? Would their resume be better than a 10-2 Tennessee team? Kind of hard to say yes with Tennessee having a win over Bama.

Tre Harris will be a go for this weekend. I just hope the offense doesn’t get away from what’s won them these last few games. Logan Diggs quite possibly will see some action as well. Also Kiffin said Nolen and Pegues have been playing hurt which we all knew and appear to be 100% now and the offensive line first and second units are all healthy for the first time this season. I was iffy about the bye because it kind of kills momentum plus a possibility to cause Ole Miss to drop in the playoff standings but it def helped out to get the guys that were hurt some time to rest.

The powers to be are blaming it on the NIL. Smells fishy. -
Mississippi College dropping football

This was in one of the articles I read. “Mississippi College played its final football game this past Saturday as officials have confirmed that the program is being dissolved to allow the university to dedicate resources to its other 17 sports and pursue facility upgrades.” -

Fred McAfee is the former Saints player. -
Mississippi College is doing away with football after this season. It’s also being renamed Mississippi Christian University.

Almost all Ole Miss fans remember the Rebels going into The Swamp and upsetting the eventual national champions causing the Tebow speech. The one I hope doesn’t get repeated is the one in 2015. Two weeks removed from beating Bama in Tuscaloosa, the Rebels went into The Swamp riding high at #3 and 4-0. 4 turnovers later and Will Grier looking like Tom Brady that game was over in the 1st quarter. That was a horrible outing that I didn’t even bother watching the 2H of. High hopes were killed that night.

Yup can’t come out flat. Need to jump on them early and get the crowd out of it like we did against South Carolina. Just like the Georgia game, this is one of those times where you take that next step as a program. Do you wanna be the same team in the past that has had the WAOM moments or be the team that starts something big? That Georgia win made a lot of positive things happen in the recruitment trail this week that could possibly change again with a loss to Florida. Lots on the line in The Swamp.
