  1. Scott Central is likely the heavy favorite
  2. If you really want the truth. You can’t combat it. All you can do is treat it the best you can. It’s not going to go away. Ever. It’s going to continue circulating for years until enough immunity is established to the point it just becomes another common cold. It’s also seasonal, and we are in the middle of a seasonal peak. There will be another seasonal wave in the winter. Hopefully enough immunity will be achieved with this wave where we aren’t hit as hard as we are now.
  3. This is simply not true, and the age is not relevant. We have stopped collecting data on breakthrough cases (how convenient). The efficacy rate isn’t determined by age. It’s 39%. Is that in mostly older patients, probably. But it’s still 39%. That’s very low, and actually lower than the requirement to remain under emergency authorization. It’s still showing to be effective against severe illness and death, but even those criteria are dropping in efficiency as well. The CDC director said yesterday that those vaccinated early are at an increase risk of severe illness. This is why they are now calling for booster shots. And that has many doctors pretty upset. We messed up by trying to tell every single person under the sun to get vaccinated. That strategy is what will lead to escape variants. We should have had focused protection on the elderly and those with underlying conditions, while also advocating for early treatment with antivirals. Young people really should not be getting vaccinated unless they have underlying health conditions.
  4. Nah… it’s pretty much all China. They created it and released it. Nobody else. We did help fund it however probably
  5. It’s not a small percentage anymore. It’s steadily decreased in effectiveness, and is now only 39% effective according to a recent Israeli study. Israel is heavily vaccinated, and experiencing a surge.
  6. It’s effective at preventing severe illness and death. It’s not effective in preventing infection. Viral loads in vaccinated people are just as high as they are in unvaccinated. That information is widely available, and has been known for a couple weeks now.
  7. Vaccinated spread it just as much as the unvaccinated. Those with natural immunity have immunity and do not spread at all.
  8. Majority of people who catch covid consider themselves “STRICT” mask wearers according to the CDC
  9. Multiple studies, including ALL randomized controlled trials have shown mask wearing outside of healthcare setting is not effective. You cannot achieve proper mask wearing in a school or general public setting. It’s actually settled science. That study also assumed that droplets was the still the primary source of spread. That’s not believed to be the case anymore. It’s spread mostly through aerosols, which renders cloth masks useless.
  10. Mize has cancelled their jamboree for this week and our week 1 game and Loyd Star. We made masks mandatory and it’s spread like crazy. I dont know how much more proof we need that masks do not work, but whatever. But we are having to close school down for two weeks because we don’t have enough teachers available. Can’t teach without teachers
  11. There is no data yet that suggests the virus is worse in young people this year. More contagious, yes. It’s spreads way more easily. But it’s not showing to be more severe or more deadly. In fact, it may be less severe and deadly. Higher numbers will happen when something is more contagious because way more people are getting it than before. But if the RATES of hospitalizations or deaths do not go up, then it’s not more harmful. What’s incredibly odd is the fact the RSV is spreading so bad right now, in a time when it’s not supposed to be. I’m going to go out on a limb and say all these insane measures we are taking since last year are what’s driving outbreaks of other illnesses. We haven’t allowed our immune systems to work like they are designed to
  12. If we keep doing things the way we have been doing them, we can expect problems. Private schools, some not all, don’t require masks and they don’t quarantine healthy kids just because a kid was in the same room as somebody who was positive. They keep on going just like any other year
  13. Again… “the rate”. When something is way more infectious, then you will have higher numbers across the board. But the hospitalization “rates” and death “rates” from covid are not higher. Severe illness and death rates actually so far have been the same or lower, which is what happens most of the time when viruses mutate.
  14. Have to change the ridiculous quarantine rules. Sending healthy kids home is incredibly stupid
  15. Yes it did. Tons of schools had to go virtual last year, with mandated masks. Lamar county didn’t have to go virtual because they weren’t wearing masks. They would have went virtual even if they had went back to school with masks. It’s gonna spread, mask or no mask. We have seen it for over a year now
  16. I can’t speak to her situation. All I can tell you is that while this new wave is more contagious, it’s not affecting young people at a higher rate. The percentages of hospitalizations are the same. The death rate is actually lower for all people, thankfully. But it’s definitely more contagious. I think the schools should do exactly the same thing they did when a kid was exposed to another kid who was positive with the flu. The state has actually gone back to pre-covid protocol. Any school district that hasn’t is making that decision themselves locally
  17. I don’t know. Everybody is just leaving.
  18. It’s not attacking them at any higher rate. It’s infecting them at a higher rate, but the severity of the illness isn’t any higher. If schools want to stop going virtual then they need to stop quarantining healthy kids
  19. You haven’t learned anything from history
  20. Well your coach has proven that to be untrue. Because enterprise doesn’t have talent, and he has turned them into a respectable squad. Poor talent is something Mize never has. Mize had 4/5 starters leave in July last season and move to other schools. That’s the reason for the season we had last year. You will see the difference this year. I don’t think we beat enterprise this year, but it will be much more competitive than last year. Next year, I doubt enterprise beats Mize.
  21. You said this like it was an accomplishment? At the very best, 50% of the time you have a winning season? That explains everything right there. Enterprise had their run last year. It’s back to normal for them now.
  22. You may be in for a surprise. You seem to forget that enterprise only has 2 good years about every 10.
