What can the new superintendent do? The damage to Tville has been done, and it was a decade in the making. The only thing I can think of that he could do is to fire the entire administration at Tville that’s been there since their downfall started. But I get the feeling if he were to do that, the town of Tville would then accuse him of racism. When you talk to people in Tville, they say the problem is the principals at Tville not allowing the students to be disciplined. Well, the principals there the last several years have been two black females. If the superintendent fired those two black females, how well do you think that would go over in the community? The new superintendent has given them more money. He hired the local Tville coach to be the new head coach to help rejuvenate the community. He’s given them almost everything they have asked for. Sooner or later the people in Tville have to take a long hard look in the mirror. Thats just my opinion.

I don’t think that’s bad enough to justify any drastic moves. The musical chairs with teachers is their biggest issue

I heard West Jones just tried recruiting another kid from a different smaller school. Seems to be a trend with them. Do they not feel like they can win with the kids in their own district?

I would think if you can prove they moved due to being recruited, the MHSAA can rule them ineligible for one year. I know alot of schools recruit, but West Jones has gotten a little too brazen about it last few years evidently.

If I were a betting man, I would bet that you will end up being disappointed. Maybe not though, I am not super familiar with this situation. But I do know that Stringer has been prepared for this to happen, because they knew that west jones was recruiting the kid for a while now. Like I said, I knew about it 2 years ago when Brady was still at bay springs. If you think Brady went to the MHSAA without plenty of evidence of WJ recruiting the kid, you would be wrong. And I don’t have a dog in the fight, so it’s nothing to me. But I do know WJ recruited one of our best players away a few years ago and our head coach at that time didn’t care enough to protest it and just allowed it to happen. So I’m kind of glad to see them get burned this time around, I won’t lie.

West has been recruiting the kid. I first heard about it 2 years ago before Brady was even at Stringer. West Jones has been recruiting for several years, I know this for a fact. It’s not a guess.

Loyd Star has been pretty bad the last 5 years, but they are much improved. It will be a competitive game this year. Don’t know Loyd star wins, but it should be a good game.

Mize has the least amount of voters in the county. For years and years and years Mize had the least amount of representation on the school board. Mize still has the least amount of voters in the county. The fact that Tville doesn’t have as much of a voice on the board anymore is their own fault. They have more voters, they could elect whoever they want. Tville’s issues stem from one reason only… and that’s the fact that about 10-15 years ago they started making bad hires in administration, and it started the downhill spiral. That caused a lot of good folks to move away, and now the damage is done. Steps have been made the last couple of years to try to correct the problems, but it’s gonna take a pretty long time to get it fixed, and that’s even if it’s possible to get fixed. Once you let a school go down, it’s hard to get new people to move in.

West Jones just got busted recruiting again. MHSAA shut it down this time.

Should be pretty competitive. They lost some pretty good players from last year but still got some good ones returning. Should be a good battle between them and Loyd Star for the region.

Believe me, it has everything to do with the school.

I don’t know anybody that’s said any of that. If it’s one thing Tville has always had it’s good coaches. Now I will say, the junior high the last 2 seasons was the worse I have ever seen there, by alot. I don’t know if they even won a game last year, and they may have won 1 game the year before. That don’t mean that’s what will happen in high school, but it does mean the they will have to work harder than usual. The problems with the school the last 5-6 years has been what keeps making these coaches leave and also discouraged a lot of people from applying.

I think most everybody knew Barnes was leaving for a while now. I have heard the Westbrook kid is probably leaving too, but that will affect baseball more than anything.

You hit the nail on the head. Adults using these kids for clout.

The sophomore class is a good group if they all stay in school.

I know of a 7th grader right now that’s posting “offers” that he’s getting from colleges. The kid didn’t even play junior high football last year. He played “travel” football instead, but yet he’s getting offers? He cannot really throw or even catch a football, but he’s getting offers? This stuff aint legit.
