Good news from the storm, at least the football team will be able to get a new scoreboard. They needed one.

The baseball team can still play their games at their old field at the city league fields by southern pine, but the problem is that field also has some work that will have to be done to it before it’s playable. I could see the possibility of having it fixed and ready by time playoffs get here. I know our coach has reached out to their coach and told them they can use our field when available.

Scoreboard may be gone but they needed a new one anyway. Their stadium and fieldhouse are fine. The baseball field was heavily damaged, and softball fence was damaged I think. I imagine they will play the rest of their games on the road, and when available they will play some of their home games at mize

They lose 2 or 3 defensive starters and I think a couple starters on the offensive line.

Honestly, they need to let the boys coach coach their girls, and then hire another boys coach

Will the season get later start now?

If I had a dollar for every star high school player who said they had a sibling that was going to be better, I would be a wealthy man. I have seen both up close and personal. Git was a generational type player. Those type players don’t come around often.

He’s not half of what Git was. He’s a good player, but he’s only gonna be a freshman. When he’s a junior he will be pretty dang good. But he is not Git.

Nah. Raleigh is gonna be really good next season. They basically lose a runningback on offense, and maybe a couple guys on defense. They return a lot of junior that started this last season. Their defense could be crazy good.

Yeah I do not believe that at all. It’s not possible to double the size of your roster in less than a year. They didn’t have that many students just sitting in the hallways. If they have 46 players, he’s including his junior high too.

Yeah then definitely probably doesn’t have legit offers. Doesn’t mean he won’t get them. But young QB’s like that very seldom get committable offers this soon.

He can be successful. He’s a good dude. I don’t know how quickly he can have Tville back to their former glory.

Again, I doubt very seriously they have truly “offered” him. Schools send out “offers” to many players. But they really aren’t offers, or at least they aren’t commitable offers. It’s just a way of keeping the communications open.

Not really. Georgia pacific used to be a big employer there in the 90’s, but they aren’t as booming as they were back then. Tville used to use those jobs to recruit players families from West Jones back in the day. The school school made some bad hires over the years that really let the place go down quickly. People have been leaving in big numbers the last 5-6 years or so. They have had a few different years where they had 20 teachers leave in one year.

I doubt very seriously he has offers from those schools. And if he did then there was no reason for him to transfer. He more than likely was poached if I had to guess.

Mize does not have a problem with keeping people. We are trying to keep so many from coming. Tville is having trouble keeping students.

Consolidation is a long long way away for smith county schools.

Not as extreme as Tville’s case. Their backups are far far far away from their starters.

Thats ok. He was pretty tough. You also have Booth who could play some RB. Tville will have some pieces for a good starting 11. It’s all gonna boil down to depth, which is something they just are lacking right now. The drop off from their first string to their backups is a really big gap.

On any given night, yes. The same way Tville did. But it would definitely be an upset, just like it was when Tville beat them. Tville caught bay springs at just the right time. But they were not better than bay springs.

Because we played both Tville and enterprise last season. And I watched film of both thoughout the season. Tville was more athletic, but they were wore down late in every game due to depth. They would not have matched up well with enterprise.

Don’t think they beat pelahatchie, and may not beat McLaurin. They can beat Mount Olive .

There are no kids transferring from Tville unless it’s Barnes, and I don’t think he will transfer. Oak Grove was trying to get his mother hired as a basketball coach and wanted him to play baseball there but that never did happen. And I don’t think he would leave for his senior year. The key for Tville will be finding replacements for Laza, Dre, and Reco. Those were 3 year starters.

I have seen Raleigh’s schedule. Not in order, but I know who all they are playing at least. It’s definitely a tough schedule.
