I don’t see them having trouble with clarkdale. Their defense looked pretty good against Raleigh in the spring. I don’t see enteprise beating them either but enteprise is capable of an upset.

Thats good. But the fact is they played an incredibly soft schedule, and anytime a good RB plays bad teams every single week that player is gonna rack up on stats. What did he rush for the next week against Raleigh?

Fall apart? They may not even be the favorite against Mize. I could see thinking BS is the favorite, but to have to fall apart? Nah. If anything it’s a toss up.

Speaking of loyd star, maxpreps does not have their roster updated. Does anybody know how many players are on their team?

Wesson returns some good players, but they lost some good ones too. Especially on the line. I also think Loyd star is maybe getting a little too much love honestly simply because of the stats their RB puts up against a lot of inferior opponents. I don’t think they have the depth to hold up against the best, but they will have another good season, they will rack up a ton of rushing yards, and they will give Wesson a much better game this year. I think Wesson beats them again though because I don’t think Loyd star matches up well against offenses like Wesson’s. I wasn’t impressed with Loyd star in the spring to be honest, but they were without their QB. They had a pretty dang tough lineman out there though, I think he was #67. My kind of player.

The last two years, the only time Heidelberg has lost is when they have multiple turnovers in a game. Anytime they have not turned the ball over, they have won.

Anybody can be beat on any given night. But Heidelberg will definitely be a heavy favorite every week, maybe even when they play Noxubee.

I think enterprise can upset Scott central in round 1. If they were in that district I think they would finish 2nd but wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled off an upset and won it. They could upset mize or bay springs. But it would be an upset.

There are fans at every school that say this exact same thing about their school every single year. Nobody, and I mean nobody, knows mize football more than me, and mize has not been the best 2A team in the state ever since they have been in 2A going back to 2005. Nobody was beating Scott central 3 years ago, nobody was beating Charleston 2 years ago and nobody was beating Heidelberg last year. The best teams won the championship every year the last 3 years. Was Mize better than Loyd Star last season? Yes, probably so. But they weren’t better than Loyd Star on that one particular night. That’s the way the game goes, it’s the way it’s always gone ever since the game was invented. But to the average Joe that has absolutely no clue about what’s going on, every loss will always be because of poor coaching. If you don’t believe that just ask enterprisebulldogfan.

If the parents move to another school district, then there is no foul. The issue is some schools, usually smaller schools, have a stud athlete that bigger school want to poach. So they contact the kid and get him to come “live” with some friend or relative in another district. An example would be a kid from Mize was recruited by an administrator at west jones high school a few years ago. They said the kid “moved” to soso and lived with his aunt. That was false. The kid lived in mize the entire time he went to school at west jones. That’s the kind of stuff these bigger schools have been getting away with that now some smaller schools are starting to fight back against. And unfortunately it’s causing some of these players to have to miss an entire season now.

If you move to the school, there’s nothing that can be done to stop a kid from playing. But a player just can’t go live with a coach or some random person just to go play sports somewhere they have been recruited to.

Lol. Sounds like your school got busted recruiting. Why can’t your own school just develop the players that are there instead of trying to poach kids from somebody else?

Last year was a rebuilding season and the senior group was probably the least talented Mize has had in a long time. That group of seniors never won at the youth level nor junior high level. If anything they overachieved.

In west jones case, coaches and administrators have been recruiting. I can’t speak for petal coaches.

That’s nonsense. It’s illegal to recruit. It doesn’t matter if he wants to stay where he currently is at or not. What should happen is the school that recruits the player should be punished. Right now, the only person that gets punished is the kid while the school faces no repercussions.

I think their OL was just a victim of not having any depth, which could be the case again this season. They were wore down in the 2nd half of alot of games simply from not having any depth.

The parents should be ashamed as well, but their punishment is that their kid doesn’t get to play ball. The schools should not get off Scott free. There needs to be consequences for these schools.

These schools that recruit these kids and ruin there seasons need to face some kind of punishment. Petal and west jones both now have a kids season in limbo.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in Tville’s spring game. They had barely had their OC hired by time that game was played. They will be fine. They may take some lumps early on because Agee did put some tough teams on their schedule, but that should pay off for them by time district play comes around

All 3 teams play in the smith county jamboree. Tville plays Scott central

We aren’t running mid-line or triple option this year, so fumbling shouldn’t be as much of an issue as it was last year. Hopefully.
