  1. Your 1A and some 2A schools will have much lower numbers come October release of reclassification 2026 according to 2025-26 numbers posted to the point that some need to be closed.
  2. Parents move all the time which is a legit reason to transfer. With social media the hype has caught up to it. Now the new school and coach have to dot the eyes and cross the tees by July 1.
  3. 2A 2025-26 8th-10th Belmont 210. N1 Collins 210. S6 Water Valley 205. N3 Wesson 205. S7 Amite County 204. S7 Holly Springs 204. N2 Scott Central 200. S5 Aberdeen 199. N4 Thomas Edwards 198. N3 Hatley 198. N1 Northside 191. N3 Enterprise Clarke 189. S6 Eupora 189. N4 East Union 188. N1 Kemper County 186. N4 MS Palmer 185. N2 Bogue Chitto 185. S8 Mize 183. S6 Charleston 179. S5 East Marion 146. S8 *Pine Grove 145. N1 Region assignments are my opinions Bruce, Eupora , or Vardaman go to R3 or Charleston R3, East Union R2, Aberdeen R1.
  4. Kemper in the north its 21 in the north Kemper in the south and its even at 20. Then do u separate the Jasper County schools.
  5. Velma Jackson 133 1A Region 5 Kemper County Philadelphia Newton Scott Central Enterprise Region 6 Heidelberg Bay Springs Pelahatchie Puckett Mize Region 7 Wesson Amite County Bogue Chitto Enterprise Loyd Star Wilkinson County Region 8 Collins Perry Central North Forrest Sacred Heart East Marion Then I can see Kemper staying North. Region 5 Bay Springs Heidelberg Enterprise Philadelphia Newton Region 6 Collins Scott Central Mize Puckett Pelahatchie Bogue Chitto goes to Region 8 Kemper stays North due to Pine Grove moving up non football
  6. 2A Region 5 will probably add Philadelphia to replace Lake. 2A Region 6 will stay at 4 or add Collins if Bogue Chitto moves to Region 8. 4 if Region 7 stays at 6 schools. Then again Mize can go Region 5 and add Philadelphia to Region 6.
  7. Down to : 4A #2 Sumrall 466 #3 Lanier 457 #4 Purvis 451 Up to 4A: #37 Booneville 319 #40 St Patrick (316) Old numbers #41 St Stanislaus (316) Old numbers Down to 3A: #1 Byhalia 310 #5 Rosa Fort 285 Up to 3A: #36 Lake 217 #37 Strayhorn 214 #38 Clarkdale 213 #40 New Site 211 bottom 2 are non- football #39 OLA 212 Down to 2A: #1 Belmont 210 tied with Collins #5 Holly Springs 204 #8 Aberdeen 199 #9 Thomas E Edwards Up to 2A: #17 Bogue Chitto 185 #36 Heidelberg 150 -37 20 position drop #39 Pine Grove 145 Down to 1A: #1 West Lincoln 143 Smith County: 3A #25 Raleigh 250 +15 2A #18 Mize 183 -2 1A #19 Taylorsville 120 -23 They could send Raleigh to Region 5 or a very weak Region 6 pending on Union or St Andrew's going North to Region 3 or 4. JDC and Seminary heading to Region 8. Mize Region will have to add Newton or head to Region 7 maybe.
  8. Mississippi Department of Education posted the numbers of 2025-26. So, I looked at some numbers, a number of schools at the top and bottom of each larger classes and here what is interesting: Looking at 8th -- 10th grades 7A: Greenville has a large 9th grade of nearly 500 students. Total numbers should be around 995. They are moving up. The class should return to 24 schools. Meridian will remain. Pearl and Murrah will drop to 6A. And yes I looked at the new JPS feeder patterns from middle school to high school. I feel comfortable to say all JPS schools will be down in numbers as will many public schools. South Jones will be at the bottom of 6A and Neshoba Central along with Gautier will drop to 5A. Corinth and Greenwood will move up to 6A. Sumrall, Lanier, and Purvis will drop to 4A. Being a small school guy I can give the 8th thru 10th grade numbers later. If I can just find the private school numbers it will be good.
  9. ALL Participants have the option to open up as many topics as necessary to cover the sport in general, by school, county, district, or class.
  10. I don't know who is going where. From what I have seen with the 2025-26 numbers posted on MDE website some schools are in trouble with the possibility of being down 25 to 30 students come next October potential reclassification numbers. The Smaller schools aren't growing. A good example is Heidelberg going from 187 #16 in 2A 2024 to 150 #36 in the 8th thru the 10th grade in 2025-26 which will be the new 9th thru 12th numbers. Less numbers in the classroom less talent on the field. So yes look for the Oilers to struggle some in 2027. And the closing of Wingfield in Jackson has caused less students in JPS high schools. Meridian as some thought will drop to 6A. That shouldn't happen as 7A will be 24 schools with Greenville going to 995 students and 7A. Murrah and Pearl will drop. The lower numbers continue to pop up in public schools. Transferring for sports is not the whole problem.
  11. Hopefully things will workout for what's good for Wayne County. Anew principal and a coach may be what's best going forward.
  12. The Superintendent in a county district can put a stop to it unless said student transfers because parents move into the into the school zone. I am sure some transfer between divorced or separated parents. Nothing you can do if Doctor so and so or businessman Bo moves from Jackson area to Tupelo or the coast as long as necessary paperwork is handled by July 1. But living in Magee zone and attending Mt Olive or Mendenhall is illegal unless parent is a teacher at Mt Olive or Mendenhall as example.
  13. Sounds like the new superintendent wants the coach gone. If Hawthorne told him to hire a lawyer is one thing. If Hawthorne physically called a lawyer, physically took him to lawyer, a, b, c, etc then Hawthorne should be fired. As for MHSAA goes they probably told Hawthorne NO. Perhaps MAC may have recommended a lawyer.
  14. I thought you had to be on the agenda before you speak. And yes the board attorney should be present. I feel like they board can non renew both contracts.

Stock took Raleigh to south state i believe in his second year and they have been on a roll. He will probably take at least one who played for him at Raleigh and has been with him since college.
  16. Beginning to sound like the Grinch stole his other job opportunity and then stole it again.
  17. Eugene Clinton is the new head coach at Brandon. The interim tag has been removed. He was the radio in Jackson area. He played high school under Willie Collins at Provine. He played under Joe Lee Dunn at MSU. He said he was ready to shake things up at Brandon. His offense will be the Brandon offense, spread it out 5 wide and go fast or slow it down whatever it takes to win.
  18. They can't compete with the bigger schools like Prep, JA, MRA, and Hartfield. If they were smaller classifications maybe.
  19. Heard this morning on Jackson Sports Talk Radio that Herbert Davis is off the table. Stockstill's wife is from Raleigh area or about 20 miles SE of Brandon. Her sister lives in Brandon were her son graduated a few years ago. I imagine coach Stock will stay near where his son is attending college. If he is playing at Gulf Coast for example I expect he will expect he will stay close by to attend those games as much as possible.
  20. Stockstill does have family ties down 18 from Brandon
  21. Iam thinking one of 4 last names. 1 is retired. 1 can have the same name twist. 1 has retired and then returned to coaching. 1 will have to leave Simpson County.
