I agree only 1 Superintendent needed in the county. Draw up the school zones evenly as possible even if certain students on the east side of Columbia go to East Marion.

Raleigh will always be a C school, Elementary a B at times.

He is better than Hancock. He took the county from a D to a B level. Hancock took it back to a D level. I am not for either one. They could have appointed a retired Superintendent from Rankin County. He lasted all but one day. He was not going to put up with Smith Crooked Politics.

Enterprise won the region last year because Forest and Morton are down. Mize given time will be back up. Enterprise will go back down in a year or two. Smith County will never consolidate unless the state or federal forces it. They do need a better Superintendent than what ever they have now.

Smith County is not paying teachers what they can make elsewhere. Poor leadership and no discipline.

Superintendent will hand pick the coach. There maybe a list of applicants but still handpicked.

$500 student vouchers for out of district students coupled with discipline problems at Magee and Mt Olive have helped Mize. Raleigh has its own discipline problems is one reason they will be dropping to 2A in 2023-24. They should return to 3A in 2025-26 if 2021 numbers are still well over 300. Students have left Raleigh for Simpson and Sylva Bay as well. Majority of Smith County north of 18, east of 13 and 541 the land is within the Bienville National Forest which leaves that area with small group homes within the area. Also a large area along area along hwy 13 south of Morton thru Polkville, east of Puckett down hwy 541 thru Martinville to near Magee with poor phone and internet service. If the numbers don't grow they are headed for 1 consolidated school located in Raleigh. Whether that will be 9-12 or 10-12 is to be seen. Something will gave be done to Raleigh 7-8 grades to accommodate Mize and Taylorsville students. Of course the school zone lines can be altered to offset the Raleigh decrease or perhaps a new High School along 28 to accommodate Mize and Taylorsville students. There are currently no plans for any changes to occur. The lack of jobs especially in Raleigh has hurt. They should have built a school at Burns years ago. Nor everyone really cares about going to Raleigh.

Smith County students have left for Sylva Bay, Simpson, and East Rankin since Katrina. Problems at Magee and Mt Olive have resulted in the movement into Mize School Zone over last 12 years or so. The owners of GP no longer bring in athletes and give parents jobs. I am not sure that the coaches are interested in such recruitment. In 2010 the largest population in the county had shifted along and west of hwy 35. In 2020 the population has shifted to the SW (Mize) part of the county more specifically in the triangle between 35, 28, and 37 hwys. Majority of those kids attend Raleigh and Mize.

Enterprise want be in 3rd Round. They will finish 3rd in Region 5. Travel to Magee in Round 1. Season over!

It has to pass 2 times. It passed in February and April (unamousily). The October 2021 numbers were in the AD meeting. The proposal to go with 9-11 numbers passed as well.

Someone should be complaining about driving from Cleveland(McEvans) to Bay Springs for a basketball game. No way they should be in the south. Yes they may have to drive to Biggersville or Hamilton but that's north Ms for sure.

It be between Raleigh, JDC, or Tylertown. Enterprise is in that 2nd tier of teams like Magee and Morton. Enterprise is like Raleigh with 2A numbers playing 3A Ball. And yes if you take the 8-10 numbers you are 2A come 2023.

Morton boys said they rolling threw Region 5. If it happens Enterprise will make that dreaded trip to Magee or Raleigh first probably as a 3 seed.

Tishomingo has 333 without the 8th grades. Iuka Middle 99 Burnsville 8th 65 Tish should be 4A with just 29 of those 164.
