I had to go up to Wayne County and the pine belt today.. I don’t know when our county government became so corrupt. The county attorney got locked up n Ridgeland today. Something to do with the Powe case. The sheriff was found in his car wrecked at 4 am couple nights ago. Wasn’t on a call. Deputy came and picked him up and took him home. No drug test, no trip to hospital. Jones County sheriff’s department came to his house and took him to hospital in Laure. Nobody knows where he is now. This is what happens when a couple of families block anything that could employ the talented kids and pay them enough to enjoy life. Anyone who aspires to be successful GTFO. The only people left to fill government jobs are mostly incompetent buffoons Its becoming a sad place. You know I watched the second half of y’all and Brandon then Brandon against Starkville. They got lucky against you guys. I honestly think OS was still a little hung over from Oak Grove. Knowing you were going to have to score points against a dynamic team and not being able to do it ? I’m going to make a prediction here. Brandon coach will never win a gold ball. Maybe down in 2A or something where he only has to have a good defense.

It’s amazing I can sit here’s and watch , on the same streaming service mind you , the big school title game from the super dome broadcast going off without a glitch. They even have the stream going for pre game awards and announcements. It’s a NCAA quality production. Our problem lies with the jack legs they are giving crumbs to put on ours. Trophy was the same size though. you are correct about the refs. Matter of fact throughout the playoffs the officiating I saw was very good. I give them enough hell throughout the season they should get credit when they just officiate the game and don’t try to be a factor in it.

The only thing I could add to this conversation would be that I would take Scott Central’s passing game in Wayne County in a heartbeat. That’s the kind of system our athletes are suited for.

The greatness showed by this picayune team down the stretch is something you don’t see at this leve but once every fifteen years. A team with the coaching , talent and most of all leadership from the players. There is no lagging off on that sideline. Every player is involved in something there all game long. I don’t need to say anything about this team. They said all that needs to be said on the field. The Picayune faithful filled that lower half up and stayed into the whole game. I will always remember sitting there with my friends from Picayune and feeling like we were all family. It was the kind of thing you will always know where you were on this night. West Point offense is the key to this game. Namely their offensive line. If they can hold their own and stay ahead of the chains on third down they have a chance. I think 28- 31 points by either team will win this game . Everyone thinks the maroon tide will win including me. As I sit around thinking about this game though 05 keeps popping in my mind. We were undefeated and just overwhelming people with our passing game . I was flying into Jackson from way down south man the party was on. “ Who were we playing again ? West joint? Yea I’ll have one. Ooohhh West Port , never heard of em. I think they are close to Tupelo. It’s just academic though right “. Arrogance from all of us. That tune changed pretty dam quick. They made it a point on every play to have somebody in Drex’s face or chase Lampley to the edge where they could run him down. It was a defensive masterpiece for sure but the thing that still sticks with me today is the WP QB scrambling for seven or eight yards on third down over and over again and again. He kept our offense off the field as much the WP defense did. That was the only loss we had for two seasons. Okay that’s far enough down memory lane. I will just say this nobody plays up being the underdog like they do in West Point. We will see what they look like facing the wing t for the second time. Not to mean this in the wrong way but I think they didn’t take Picayune as seriously as they should have last season.and by the time they did they were dealing with a run away train.

Vicksburg didnt have the horsepower to move West Point when the field got short in the red zone .
