I’m getting positive feedback on that too. I know that Coach Hankins has emphasized our scoring woes. We lost a dam good coach that went into administration too I’m going to come right down and say it. If you can’t look at #12 and know what you got there. They were putting three people to stop him In Gautier. Laurel did the same thing but he boxed them out and got the rebound all night He’s the best wide receiver we have ever had come through here and we have had some prime time ones. That’s what you build around . Coach isn’t blind he knows what he’s got.Every game we lost was because the offensive line got overwhelmed.

I mean yes I get your bullish view on us coming into this season but Gautier handled our offense in the playoffs. Our defense played well enough to stay in the game but the offense got slapped around plain and simple. So until WC lines up and beats them I will give them the nod over us. Even with losing their QB.. Looks like I will have to revise when I start my poll with so few region games now.

Hattiesburg hands down is the best host site. You can see the whole field in that stadium. Ole Miss has terrible sight lines and MSU is not far behind. Long desolate drives with vast spans of nothing. No thanks. Keep it close to the most populated areas of the state not up in hazzard county. Does anyone have the totals for the last couple years in Hattiesburg versus other places.

I hope you are right and will defer to you on the matter but I am just going to come out and say it.. Coach Hankins wants to win and is doing everything he can to put us on top. I could never get on board with forcing him out. On the might have beens though I know that Marcus made sure what Coach Hankins was going to do before he took the Meridian job. That’s why he was hanging around town and the school right before Christmas. Coach stayed so I will ride with him. Breland also was eying what was going on. It is what it is. He will be working with 25% of what he had with SJ. Granted the competition won’t be that stiff either. The thing I don’t get is why West Jones didn’t reel him in.

I’m a little confused by this development too. Hence the frustration. I’d like to think he’s on ice for the possibility of Wayne County opening up in the near future but I also know that as long as certain people make the hire they would throw his application in the trash upon arrival as they would Coach Boyles’ too.

After watching a a little bit of tape it was clear that both coaches agreed to mostly call plays that let the lines and front seven knock. And knock they did. I will say this our offensive line is night and day from last year and mostly sophomores I think. Their aggressiveness was very apparent and they were looking for contact.. For the bad we didn’t score , same as last season and that carried into the fall. Some of that had to do with limited chances because of only going three quarters and Meridian grinding the clock but Poplarville did that last season too. I hope that’s not a trend or philosophy driven . We will be better than last season just on size alone . As for Meridian like wareaglefan said buckle your chinstrap. Their LBers can run , have some size and looking to do damage when they get there. They definitely play with more of an attitude too.

Marcus was trying to find a way to shore up his lines on both sides and to set the edge for those backs. He still hasn’t found a qb but he will. He always does. My assessment on Wayne County and me watching this fall.

It’s all good now. That’s not surprising. He looked like bad medicine when he got in there last season. I think he’s a star in the making.

Been out of commission for a couple of days with a cracked tooth. My regular dentist let me go into the weekend with it not seeing it. Endodontost snatched it out Tuesday morning . Biblical pain.

Looks like and old helmet you would pick up at a garage sale in Mt. Olive

Can you translate what that means 06 because I don’t have a clue? I think I understand the dipping part but the buttermilk part has me scratching my head. I’m pretty sure there are no dairies in Wayne County.

Thursday , May 18 at six a varsity four quarter game in Waynesboro. It was supposed to be Demopois but they backed out so the man that built Wayne County football will bring his team down from Meridian to try and break the wing. Can you believe that ? Last season in the spring game our offense couldn’t score. It was going around after it that Coach Hankins was holding back . Well that must have carried over into the regular season because every good team we played our offense was paralyzed and was that team’s downfall. I am a fan of Coach Hankins and think he is a good coach and leader. South MS football is a different animal than Alabama. Point blank. I’m just saying now , that I’m going to be more critical because I think this team has the potential to do something. This baby has come to term and I am tired of hearing about the labor pains. It’s time to see el nino.

Have they been meeting with Poplarville players again and it got by me ?

More wing t with the best thrower we’ve had since I can’t remember when and one of the top wide receivers in the state. Like Maroontide said, No excuses this season playing in the runt classification even with forcing defenses to defend space the size os an Amazon box.

I heard the principal went to bat for him. All I can say is

You don’t worry about what I get or don’t get there sparky. Now that it’s over , I put that up there as a favor to somebody that does get it. I don’t even know if Brady even applied for sure or not. I will let my batting average on here speak for itself. Somebody asked was it even voted on. Yes Corey’s old buddy from South Jones threw his name out there for a vote and it was voted down by one vote. Now that the curtain has been pulled back West Jones community has taken notice and you can bet they won’t sneak any good old boys through again. Maroontide this isn’t a parable but it’s some advice from an old boss I had when I first graduated college. I bought a new truck paid for it , traded it for another one right after because it was wore out as it was the only ride I had .so I drove it. It was looking like the same with the second. I was complaining about it one day and he told me “ Son a car is not an investment, it’s an expense. You need to invest in having good credit. You are smart figure out the rest.” Two months later I leased my next new truck and have leased another new ride every three years since then. By the time you pay for a new auto, with what you are going to spend on tires brakes and repairs you will spend less on a lease and be driving a new one every few years. You got good credit you can drive one away in one the same day with no money down. Repairs , oil changes and other maintenance is all on them. That old long gone gray beard was right. Good credit is the best investment you can ever make. That’s my long winded speech for the week. Good luck with the hire Mustangs. Politics and high school football do not mix at all.

But yet no one would hire him as a head coach until now. I know he's a Wayne County guy but I would be less than thrilled. I'm having a hard time believing this is the hire. And over two guys with rings already, the decision should have made itself.

I’m expecting Brady to be a Mustang shortly.

A lot of dominoes would have to fall for that to pan out. I’m just saying West wouldn’t be doing its job if they didn’t check his interest. He’s better than any of the candidates mentioned up to now.

I think they would have too. That was one hell of a defense. .This should be Brady’s job because he wants it with Pierson’s blessing of course. . A certain buzzcut coach that already has a ring is floating around Jones. County too without a job. He’s sposed to be retired .

I'm not talking about taking it personal. I'm talking about having rules enforced to ensure everyone is on the same platform competition wise. It wasn't a coincidence that Polarville went to another level and Petal disappeared back in to abyss after MHSAA slapped their hand . They got tired of it in Poplarville..
