I just hope State tries to make a concerted effort in Hoover this time because Hoover isn't far away and in theory could have more State fans there than any other fan base in the SEC there.

It was definitely exciting to watch and yes it was closer than the score indicated, but it’s a solid win for State and hopefully it’ll stabilize the RPI ranking as well. Hopefully we can win the series against Bama this weekend.

I just want to see us with a decent QB, kind of like a Jakail Myers, Broderick Scott, or another Chris Stewart. I also wouldn't mind another Darnell Smith or Tim Gaff style of fullback either. If that's covered, I can have a little bit more peace of mind LOL!

Well you can see what adding the 7th classification did. It turned 5A into a glass of water with a drop of tea in it. But like you said, when these schools start caving in on themselves it'll force them to do something because temporal things don't last forever.

@Vottthere’s so much to dissect and analyze here, but your prediction is pretty much spot on. I also think Pearl River Central will break that losing streak that goes back to the week after the Long Beach game in 2022 like you mentioned, and there’s a factor there that will probably help to get that done. If I had to guess though, it would probably happen against one of their non-district opponents. If they manage to win a district game on top of winning a non-district game, that would be a huge step in the right direction for them. Progress takes time, but the opportunity is there for it to happen.

Well it's such a tough district to begin with. Whoever wins this district pretty much earns a spot at the December dinner table.

State went from being unranked to being vaulted up to #16 in the D1Baseball poll. I just wish they would have let State fly below the radar a little bit longer. State still has a lot of business to take care of and they'll need to take care of it 1 game at a time.

I think you’re right about that. I just wish they would emphasize playing small ball a little bit more instead of hitting for power aka sitting long as Lem calls it. Whatever happened to old fashioned grounders? If you hit a grounder, guess what? They can’t catch you out. They actually have to throw you out, and then you can get the runners home that are sitting at 3rd with one out. I realize that probably makes too much sense as to why you’ll never see something like this implemented.

Runningman, you have difficulty escaping bad football. From Long Beach to St. Martin, it went from bad to worse. Why don't you try getting behind Ocean Springs or someone like that? I mean it couldn't hurt could it? Isn't Ocean Springs over in that same neck of the woods?

I feel like Germantown is kind of the X-factor in this district. This will be year 3 for Mitchell & Co. Inc, LLC. Can Germantown finally turn the corner this year? If they can they've got the opportunity to win this district and they probably can afford to lose a district game since this district will wind up eating each other up. I feel like you could make a case for any one of these teams with the exception of Clinton, and you could justify it.

This is just a brutal district. The top 4 in this district could probably win a district title in another 7A district. Whoever makes it through this district with the least amount of damage is probably the safest bet to make it to December football. There's definitely a lot to chew on with this poll.
