  1. They’ll be 5-0 heading into week 6. They’ll be playing y’all at D.I. Patrick on October 4th. Then the last two weeks they travel to Picayune and host Pascagoula. That’s their three toughest opponents on the regular season by far.
  2. They needed a reduction in football scholarships, not more. It was completely asinine to increase the scholarship level to 105 for football. If they aren't getting scholarship money, they're getting NIL money (which probably covers the cost of tuition, plus puts money in their pocket). The NCAA is continuing to show how "smart" they really are.
  3. You'll get the privilege of watching Laurel two weeks in a row. Don't turn into a Nader LOL
  4. If I got to the point where I didn't like high school football, somebody would have to tear me a new one. I've been around it far too long for it to just be an afterthought.
  5. For being unplugged, you certainly seem to be way more knowledgeable about what's going on in Pascagoula than Sims himself. Keep it up.

Even the state title games I’ve been to in Hattiesburg haven’t really been cold and I had to mow my grass a couple of years ago on New Years Eve because it was scraggly.
  7. @Archer got any insights in regards to Pascagoula? Apparently y'all have surpassed Gulfport as our longest running rival. Congrats on the accolade.
  8. If it's professional, then why do we still have the terminology "student-athletes" ? If you're a paid employee so to speak, then what's the point of the academic side of it?
  9. I'm glad you mentioned the Pike County schools. I didn't realize that North Pike was 5A and they've got some good football in Pike County that usually flies below the radar. It's too bad that McComb is 4A because I think they would thrive in 5A. If they could make the move to 5A, it would definitely give them some breathing room.
  10. Do you think anybody else in 5A South has a chance to be better than Laurel? I know you've got the smokescreen in Brookhaven, but is that going to be the only threat in 5A? I think you just need to find someone that's halfway decent and if you do that, then you've got someone who can send Laurel back to the abyss.
  11. And Poplarville ain’t really no slouch either. It’s just that classification gap, plus that once in 15-20 year defense that West Jones had last year. Other than that, Poplarville is a great football team. They should give West Jones a much better game this year.
  12. I don't think schedules are out for next season due to reclassification that's got to occur. Heck, they may not have Prep on their schedule after this year anyway. If Prep wants to beat West Jones, they'll have to do it this year. It should be a primetime matchup regardless of outcome.

It is and I get to be a first hand witness to it. You can't shorten the amount of days in the school year, but you can shorten the timeframe and that is what keeps getting longer.
  14. He was still listed on the staff as of yesterday morning and by yesterday afternoon he was taken off of the list. It's a strange world we live in.
  15. Talk about an identity crisis LOL.
  16. They put Jim Hill ahead of PRC in Region 3-6A. SMH.
  17. They haven't been Hancock North Central since Spring '91. There was supposed to be a Hancock South Central as well but it never came to fruition.
  18. I'm just happy we get Pascagoula at home this year. I think our home game against George County should be a good one and that will be a good district game.
  19. It's honestly no different than the two years we played Madison Central. All those metro Jackson teams get the hype every year. I just want to see us play a good, clean football game. It just so happens our opponent is Brandon. As long as Picayune is the best version of Picayune come August 30th, I'll be just fine with the results.
  20. I guess we have to knock off numero uno right out the gate LOL.
  21. I know y'all can't help it with the other Jones County schools, but if y'all can get Oak Grove on future schedules that would make for a great game regardless. I also understand your sentiment of going ahead and getting the cupcakes out of the way as well, and you can also work out the early game kinks against the cupcakes. In our case, we just have to hit the ground running. Our opening game against Brandon should be a good one.
  22. Dang, I just realized today is August 1st. We get to see some football this month. It's about time.
  23. We're on the cupcake free diet down here LOL.
  24. Since 2007 Hattiesburg is 4-12 against Petal. If history repeats itself, then Hattiesburg doesn't really have a dog in the fight. Even with all of that working against them, Petal is still a beatable opponent. If Hattiesburg loses this game Deonte might be on to something, but if they manage to win this game and win it convincingly, then look out.
