Ha! That’s funny right there. I don’t care who you are LOL! I guess being the proverbial whipping post at the South Panola Invitational wasn’t very fun.
-
But it didn't have to come to that. We got all the way to the 8 yard line and I want to say we had a fresh set of downs to work with. We then all of a sudden abandon the run and try to pass to TE's who had been in run block support all game. You're bringing up bad memories Tib, LOL! That '03 team woulda, coulda, shoulda played South Panola for the State Title that year.

I think that was round 1 and then we went to Northwest Rankin for round 2 and Magee tore it up. I think those records are still in the books somewhere.

Pearl River Community College Football

Maybe this will be an avenue for Seth to get back into his niche and then he won't have to worry about recruiting and all that jazz. You can't just coach at the JUCO level and you've got to wear many hats. Some coaches are built for it and others aren't and that's ok. There's a lot less working against you coaching at the high school level. -

Things definitely aren't looking good there. I don't know how you can go 6-3 last year and just a win away from the playoffs to this disaster. The only logic that I can come up with is the classes of sophomores to freshmen isn't even. There's got to be a fairly even balance of the two classes since the roster changes every year. I realize JUCO is difficult to reload, but heck Hatten was able to get it done. I'm like you Vott, I honestly don't know what's going on there. -
Well it's gameday folks. Hopefully everyone from Ocean Springs has safe travels as they traverse the pandemonium filled I-10. LOL! It should be a great game and a great night of football. Roll Tide Roll!!!
-
Good deal. Maybe they can revive the Big 8 along with the Jack Carlisle brand of football that Murrah was known for.
-
So do they get grouped into a 3A district or do they have to play an independent schedule? I’m just asking because I’m not familiar with how things work in the MAIS/MPSA.
-
Well MAIS 1A & 2A is still 8 man ball. Wouldn't school size determine if they could move up to 3A or can they have the smaller school size and opt in to 3A ball?
-
I guess my line of thinking was the "by committee" approach. But you're absolutely correct if it's a person to person comparison. #6 is a D1 athlete for a reason. As long as we play to the strengths of whichever tailback we have in the game, we should be ok. I think if there's a good thing to all of this, you'll probably have more even slices of pie as far as running back contribution is concerned. You're not going to see this "one man show" thing like we had when Magee was running the football back in the day.

Maybe I'm just too optimistic LOL!

It's all good David. You just want your team to win and there's no shame in that. If Picayune doesn't play a complete 4 quarter game, they lose. It's that simple.
-
Picayune was nowhere to be found on the radar before the 2021 season started. Picayune made the ascent at some point that year all the way to the top.
-
What is this? Reverse psychology? There's no way that West Jones has to go to Carriere, unless they just want to take a field trip there on a Tuesday. There's nothing there for them.
-
I will say this though, Catholic was a beautiful looking football team. They were damned impressive just in warmups, and frankly that's just not something you see everyday.
-
Great take here. They definitely don't have a big boy schedule, so you make some great points. If they played the teams that we have played so far and are going to play, how would they fare with that? That's definitely an interesting line of thought. I don't even think they've left Jones County yet. Correction: They went to Wayne County for a few hours last Friday.

When is the Jimbo the Bimbo experiment going to be over in College Station? The dude is #1 in the Coaches Hot Seat rankings for a reason. There’s no other Coach in America that does less with more than him. They could get a better coach at a way cheaper price, but they will just make him even more richer by firing him and they’ll wind up breaking the bank in the process. A football coach is supposed to be an asset, but Jimbo is an extremely volatile liability.

D.I. Patrick
-
But I bet you’d rather us make the trek to D.I. Patrick instead LOL! First we gotta get there though. I think if we make it that far those are two nearly for certain destination points. It’s just going to be a battle for that 3-6A crown. Heck we may be in a battle of our own.
-
I think if we meet as #1 seeds I think we'll have to go back up to Calhoun/Soso. Y'all are actually closer to Calhoun anyway.
-
Slick will be back soon, but it may be a minute. So stay tuned.
-
I know. I want to see the Slick's Sad Seven.
-
The thing is, Picayune is just fine and dandy with gaining 3-4 yards per play. Picayune doesn't need chunk plays to make the offense work. Picayune would rather eat clock anyway LOL! It may limit the amount of times Picayune can score, but as long as you have the ball the other team can't score. All it takes is 1 point to win a ball game. Just like the 3-2 Auburn-State game in 2008.
-
Now, now...does Picayune need to go back up there to Calhoun and have another home game? LOL!
-
And I think that's the general consensus, but it's still an intriguing matchup nonetheless. West Jones has to go on the road and those Poplarville fans can get crazy LOL!
