simma da na! Going up to Meridian for OG may not be the cake walk you envision if OG has the big head. OG is very, very good but this is high school football for a reason. As long as Gulfport and Ocean Springs are good football teams (which they are), you’ll continue to hear about them. I know you want Oak Grove to win (and they prolly will), but you’ve got to respect Meridian as your opponent. As long as you do that, Oak Grove won’t have many troubles.

Unfortunately that gel is going to get uncoagulated Friday night for d'Iberville.

They struggled to beat Florence, yes they did beat them, but if that is your toughest opponent thus far what is there to gauge them? They definitely are a playoff team in our district, but how they fare against Pascagoula, George County and West Harrison will give a clearer picture there.

Poor ol’ New Murrah

I certainly didn’t plan it this way, but with Picayune being off Friday night it allowed us to go catch a different ballgame. Being there at Poplarville Friday night I didn’t realize it was win #100 until the PA announcer made it known. That’s a difficult feat to accomplish and Coach Beech is just 9 wins away from being the all time winningest coach at Poplarville. I said all of that to say congrats to any coach who has accomplished this feat and to any coach who is soon to cross the 100 win mark. That type of effort shouldn’t go unnoticed, but I’m afraid that it does to an extent.

And Picayune needs to clean up the fumbles and the penalties. Oh and our secondary needs to get waaaay better. Hopefully we can get healthy enough to check off those boxes.

The North is a dang smokescreen. Hopefully we’ll get some clarity on the North once we get into the latter meat of district play. Until then it’s anybody’s guess.
